吉林铁道职业技术大学位于吉林省吉林市，是一所具有优良革命传统和悠久历史文化的省属公办全日制高等职业院校。学校前身是建校于1948年的吉林铁路职工学校和1958年的吉林铁路职工业余大学，1961年曾改名为吉林铁道学院，举办过本科层次教育。2006年2月，经吉林省政府批准改建为吉林铁道职业技术学院。2025年2月，经教育部批准同意以吉林铁道职业技术学院为基础设立吉林铁道职业技术大学。

Jilin Railway Technology University is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province. It is a public full-time higher vocational college with a fine revolutionary tradition and a long history and culture. The predecessor of the university was Jilin Railway Workers' School founded in 1948 and Jilin Railway Workers' Amateur University founded in 1958. In 1961, it was renamed Jilin Railway College and offered undergraduate education. In February 2006, it was approved by the Jilin Provincial Government to be restructured into Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical College. In February 2025, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical University was established on the basis of Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical College.

学校是国家双高计划建设单位、国家优质校、国家现代学徒制试点单位、全国就业50强高校、全国黄炎培职业教育奖优秀学校。占地面积1342.35亩，总建筑面积34.1万平方米，开设职业本科专业6个，高职专科专业41个，形成以铁路专业为引领，城轨、汽车、管理等非铁专业协调发展的专业格局。在长期办学历程中，学校始终坚持“根植铁路、服务吉林、面向全国、走向世界”的办学理念，累计为国家交通运输事业输送了10余万技术技能人才。

The university is a national "Double High Plan" construction unit, a national high-quality school, a national modern apprenticeship pilot unit, a top 50 university in national employment, and an excellent school of the National Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award. It covers an area of 1342.35 mu with a total construction area of 341,000 square meters. It offers 6 undergraduate vocational majors and 41高职专科 majors, forming a professional pattern led by railway majors and coordinated development of non-railway majors such as urban rail transit, automobile, and management. In the long-term school-running process, the university has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "taking root in railways, serving Jilin, facing the whole country, and going to the world", and has cultivated more than 100,000 technical and skilled talents for the national transportation industry.
