江西工程学院始创于1983年10月，坐落于江西省新余市，2014年经教育部批准升格为普通本科院校。学校以工学为主，涵盖工、文、经、管、艺、教、理等七大学科门类，开设38个本科专业和39个专科专业，形成了电子信息技术为特色的办学格局。校园占地面积131.74万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值1.47亿元，馆藏纸质图书181.82万册，电子图书185万册，拥有1个省级大学科技园和3个国家级高技能人才培训基地。

Jiangxi University of Engineering was founded in October 1983 and is located in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. It was upgraded to a regular undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2014. The university focuses on engineering and covers seven disciplines including engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, art, education, and science. It offers 38 undergraduate programs and 39 junior college programs, forming a school-running pattern featuring electronic information technology. The campus covers an area of 1.3174 million square meters, with teaching and research equipment worth 147 million yuan, 1.8182 million paper books, and 1.85 million e-books in the library. It has 1 provincial university science and technology park and 3 national high-skilled talent training bases.

学校秉承“勤朴敏信”校训，坚持“天工文化育人”和“创新创业教育”特色，现有全日制在校生20520人，专兼职教师562人，其中副高以上职称100人，全国模范教师1人。近年来获国家社科基金项目4项、国家专利授权800余项，学生在“互联网+”“数学建模”等竞赛中获国家级奖项422项，培养了20余万应用型人才，被誉为“企业家的摇篮”。
