江西师范大学是教育部、江西省人民政府共建高校和中西部高校基础能力建设工程高校，坐落于具有深厚历史文化底蕴、素有“物华天宝、人杰地灵”美誉的江西省省会南昌。学校肇始于1940年创建的国立中正大学，1953年改为江西师范学院，1983年更名为江西师范大学，是江西省最早举办本科教育的高校之一，也是江西省人民政府确定为优先发展的省属重点（师范）大学。

Jiangxi Normal University, a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and a university under the Basic Capacity Building Project for universities in central and western China, is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, which has a profound historical and cultural heritage and is known as "a land of treasures and outstanding people". The university originated from the National Chung Cheng University founded in 1940, was renamed Jiangxi Normal College in 1953, and Jiangxi Normal University in 1983. It is one of the earliest universities in Jiangxi Province to offer undergraduate education and a key (normal) university under the provincial government of Jiangxi Province determined to be prioritized for development.

学校现有瑶湖、青山湖两个校区，占地面积3500余亩，建筑面积140余万平方米。设有23个专业学院，1个独立学院（科技学院），现有全日制本科生近2.6万人，博士、硕士研究生9000余人，成人高等学历教育学生1万余人。学科专业涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等十大学科门类，形成了以教师教育为特色、文理为主、多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university currently has two campuses, Yaohu and Qingshanhu, covering an area of more than 3,500 mu and a building area of more than 1.4 million square meters. It has 23 professional colleges and 1 independent college (College of Science and Technology). There are nearly 26,000 full-time undergraduates, more than 9,000 doctoral and master students, and more than 10,000 adult higher education students. Disciplines and majors cover ten disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art, forming a discipline and major system with teacher education as the特色, arts and sciences as the main focus, and multi-disciplinary coordinated development.
