江西软件职业技术大学是经国家教育部批准设置的全日制统招本科高校，是全国第一所软件职业技术大学，由国家软件百强企业先锋软件股份有限公司于2003年创办，成立之初就成功入选全国35所示范性软件职业技术学院。2018年12月18日，教育部批准学校升格为本科层次职业学校，成为全国首批15所本科层次职业教育高校。2019年5月27日，教育部批复更名为江西软件职业技术大学。2022年6月，学校获批职业本科教育学士学位授予单位。2024年7月，教育部正式批复同意江西软件职业技术大学新增办学地址，成立井冈山校区。

Jiangxi University of Software Professional Technology is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is the first software professional technology university in China, founded in 2003 by Pioneer Software Co., Ltd., a national top 100 software enterprise. At its establishment, it was successfully selected into the national 35示范性 software vocational and technical colleges. On December 18, 2018, the Ministry of Education approved the school to be upgraded to an undergraduate-level vocational school, becoming one of the first 15 undergraduate-level vocational education colleges in China. On May 27, 2019, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of the school to Jiangxi University of Software Professional Technology. In June 2022, the university was approved as a bachelor's degree-granting unit for vocational undergraduate education. In July 2024, the Ministry of Education officially approved Jiangxi University of Software Professional Technology to add a new campus address and establish the Jinggangshan Campus.

南昌校区和井冈山校区共占地面积1960亩，建筑面积65万平方米。在校师生21000余人，现开设22个职业本科专业、21个专科专业。学校建有国家体育产业示范项目电子竞技人才实训基地、国家示范虚拟仿真、北斗通航重点实验室等实验实训基地（室）等。秉承“创业创新、知识管理”的校训，实施“校企融合、产学互动”的办学模式，实践“三好一专、十一工程”人才培养体系，专注软件工程及相关专业的人才培养，以国产软件为核心，在研发、交通、能源、卫生、教育以及智慧城市等领域为社会累计培养了三万余名软件优秀人才。

The Nanchang Campus and Jinggangshan Campus cover a total area of 1960 mu (about 130.67 hectares) with a building area of 650,000 square meters. There are more than 21,000 teachers and students, and currently 22 vocational undergraduate majors and 21 junior college majors are offered. The university has established experimental and training bases (rooms) such as the National Sports Industry Demonstration Project E-sports Talent Training Base, National Demonstration Virtual Simulation, and Beidou Navigation Key Laboratory. Adhering to the school motto of "Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Knowledge Management", it implements the school-running model of "School-Enterprise Integration, Production-Study Interaction", practices the talent training system of "Three Goods and One Specialty, Eleven Projects", focuses on the talent training of software engineering and related majors, with domestic software as the core, and has cultivated more than 30,000 outstanding software talents for the society in the fields of research and development, transportation, energy, health, education and smart cities.
