江西水利电力大学是一所公办理工类普通本科院校,前身为1958年创建的江西水利电力学院,历经多次更名与发展,2025年6月经教育部批准由南昌工程学院正式更名而来。学校现为江西省人民政府与水利部共建高校,是国务院批准的硕士和学士学位授予单位,江西省“十四五”博士学位授予单位立项建设单位,国家“卓越工程师教育培养计划”高校,以工学为主,涵盖管理学、理学、农学、文学、经济学、艺术学等多学科协调发展,水利电力特色鲜明。
Jiangxi University of Water Resources and Electric Power is a public general undergraduate institution of science and engineering. Its predecessor, Jiangxi Institute of Water Resources and Electric Power, was founded in 1958. After several renamings and developments, it was officially renamed from Nanchang Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education in June 2025. Currently, the university is a joint institution of the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and the Ministry of Water Resources, an institution authorized by the State Council to confer master's and bachelor's degrees, a proposed doctoral degree-granting unit in Jiangxi Province's "14th Five-Year Plan", and a university under the "National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program". It mainly focuses on engineering and coordinatedly develops multiple disciplines including management, science, agriculture, literature, economics, and art, with distinct characteristics in water resources and electric power.
