江西中医药大学创建于1959年，是教育部、国家中医药管理局与江西省人民政府共建公办普通本科高校。学校坚持“为国家改革发展服务，为中医药事业发展服务，为地方经济发展和社会全面进步服务”的办学宗旨，弘扬“惟学、惟人、求强、求精”的校训，以培养适应社会进步和中医药事业发展需要的实践型、创新型、创业型人才为目标，已发展成为以中医药教育为主体、多学科协调发展、产学研结合特色鲜明的高等中医药院校。

Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, founded in 1959, is a public undergraduate university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. Adhering to the mission of "serving national reform and development, the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) cause, and local economic and social progress", the university upholds the motto of "Pursuing Learning, Respecting People, Striving for Strength, and Seeking Excellence". It aims to cultivate practical, innovative, and entrepreneurial talents to meet the needs of social progress and TCM development, and has developed into a distinctive higher education institution of TCM with TCM education as the main body, coordinated development of multiple disciplines, and integration of industry, education, and research.

学校现有3个校区，占地面积2000余亩，全日制在校生22800余人，设有教育教学机构18个，直属附属医院3所，非直属附属医院11所。拥有中医学、中药学2个博士一级学科学位授权点，6个硕士一级学科学位授权点，8个硕士专业学位类别，36个本科专业。其中国家级一流专业建设点6个，省级一流专业建设点15个，全国重点实验室、中药固体制剂制造技术国家工程研究中心等4个国家级科研平台，省部级科研平台59个。

The university has 3 campuses covering an area of over 2000 mu, with more than 22,800 full-time students. It has 18 educational and teaching institutions, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, and 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals. The university boasts 2 first-level doctoral programs (Chinese Materia Medica and Traditional Chinese Medicine), 6 first-level master's programs, 8 professional master's degree categories, and 36 undergraduate majors. Among them, there are 6 national-level first-class professional construction sites, 15 provincial-level first-class professional construction sites, 4 national-level scientific research platforms including the State Key Laboratory and the National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Technology of Chinese Materia Medica Solid Preparations, and 59 provincial-level scientific research platforms.

学校教育教学成果丰硕，获国家级教学成果一等奖2项、二等奖4项，其中“双惟实践育人模式”是江西省至今唯一获得的高等教育国家级教学成果一等奖。科技创新方面，以第一完成单位获得国家科技进步二等奖2项，热敏灸技术、中药制造现代化等成果填补了江西医学与药类领域国家级奖项的空白，主导制定2项中医药国际标准由国际标准化组织（ISO）批准发布。

The university has achieved remarkable results in education and teaching, winning 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes of National Teaching Achievements. Among them, the "Shuangwei Practical Education Model" is the only first prize of National Teaching Achievements in higher education in Jiangxi Province so far. In terms of scientific and technological innovation, it has won 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress as the first completing unit. Achievements such as热敏 moxibustion technology and modernization of traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing have filled the gap in national awards in the medical and pharmaceutical fields in Jiangxi. It has also led the formulation of 2 international standards for traditional Chinese medicine, which were approved and released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
