荆州理工职业学院是全国最早开办的公办全日制普通高等职业院校之一，2021年与荆州教育学院（荆州市广播电视大学）合并，形成学科门类齐全的综合性高等职业院校。学校历史悠久、校风严谨，全日制在校学生2万余人，非全日制学生1.5万余人，深度对接地方产业发展需求，构建了机械、建筑、电子信息等7大类传统优势专业群及智能制造等3大类新兴产业专业群，开设45个专业，其中工业机器人技术、电子商务为国家骨干专业，智能光电技术应用专业群入选省级高水平专业群。

Jingzhou Institute of Technology is one of the earliest public full-time ordinary higher vocational colleges in China. In 2021, it merged with Jingzhou Institute of Education (Jingzhou Radio and Television University) to form a comprehensive higher vocational college with a complete range of disciplines. With a long history and rigorous school spirit, the university has more than 20,000 full-time students and over 15,000 part-time students. It deeply meets the needs of local industrial development, establishing 7 categories of traditional advantageous professional groups such as machinery, architecture, and electronic information, as well as 3 categories of emerging industry professional groups including intelligent manufacturing. It offers 45 majors, among which Industrial Robot Technology and E-commerce are national key majors, and the Intelligent Optoelectronic Technology Application professional group has been selected as a provincial high-level professional group.

学校拥有13个国家级1+X证书制度试点项目，建有中央财政支持的智能光电技术应用实训基地等11个国家级重点实践教学基地，以及第46届世界技能大赛光电技术项目湖北省集训地等8个省级重点基地。2021年获批国家职业院校数字校园建设样板校，2022年被授予“荆州新发展阶段开局先锋科教创新先进集体”称号。学校遵循“厚德、励学、笃行、立业”校训，弘扬“自强不息、乐道笃行”理工精神，致力于培养高素质技术技能人才。

The university has 13 national-level 1+X certificate system pilot projects, 11 national-level key practical teaching bases including the intelligent optoelectronic technology application training base supported by the central finance, and 8 provincial-level key bases such as the Hubei Provincial Training Base for the Optoelectronic Technology Project of the 46th World Skills Competition. In 2021, it was approved as a national vocational college digital campus construction model school, and in 2022, it was awarded the title of "Jingzhou Pioneer in Science, Education and Innovation Advanced Collective in the New Development Stage".
