昆明工业职业技术学院是由特大型国有企业昆明钢铁集团有限责任公司举办的云南省公办普通高等职业院校，其前身是1955年设立的昆钢职工业余学校，至今已有69年职业教育历史。学校坐落于云南滇中产业新区核心区域安宁市，占地面积1115亩，是首批中国特色高水平专业群（双高）建设单位、云南省首批双高计划建设院校、教育部首批现代学徒制试点高职院校，荣获“全国就业50强”“全国冶金行业技术技能人才培养示范基地”等称号。

Kunming Vocational and Technical College of Industry is a public vocational college in Yunnan Province sponsored by Kunming Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., a large state-owned enterprise. Its predecessor was Kunming Iron and Steel Workers' Spare-time School founded in 1955, with a 69-year history of vocational education. Located in Anning City, the core area of Yunnan Dianzhong Industrial New Area, the college covers an area of 1115 mu. It is among the first batch of national "Double High-Level" vocational colleges, a pilot institution of modern apprenticeship education approved by the Ministry of Education, and has been honored as one of the "Top 50 National Colleges with Excellent Employment Performance" and "National Model Base for Metallurgical Technical Talents Training".

学校坚持“为学生成长赋能、为社会发展增值”的办学理念，秉承“学以致用，德优技高”校训，形成“校企一体、铸钢铸才”的办学特色。现有全日制在校生14900余人，专兼职教师770余人，开设能源动力与材料、装备制造、电子信息等12个大类58个专科专业，建有168个校内外实训基地，其中国家级职业教育实训基地4个、省级示范基地4个，中央财政支持提升专业2个，为区域产业发展培养了大批高素质技术技能人才。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Empowering Students' Growth, Adding Value to Social Development" and the motto of "Learning for Application, Integrity and Excellence in Skills", the college has developed a distinctive school-running model featuring "Integration of School and Enterprise, Forging Steel and Talents". It currently has over 14,900 full-time students and 770 full-time and part-time teachers, offering 58 specialized programs across 12 disciplines including energy power, materials, equipment manufacturing, and electronic information. The college has built 168 on-campus and off-campus training bases, including 4 national-level vocational education training bases, 4 provincial demonstration bases, and 2 majors supported by the central government, cultivating numerous high-quality technical talents for regional industrial development.
