辽东学院地处鸭绿江畔、黄海之滨，坐落在英雄的抗美援朝出征地、中国最大最美的边境城市——辽宁省丹东市，与朝鲜新义州市隔江相望，是距离国境线最近的国门大学，也是全国唯一具备沿江、沿海、沿边区位优势的省属公办本科院校。学校高等教育始于1948年安东省立农业专科学校，2003年4月由丹东地区十余所历史悠久的高校合并组建而成，现为辽宁省首批转型发展试点院校、中国应用技术大学联盟院校、国家大学生KAB创业教育基地。

East Liaoning University is located on the banks of the Yalu River and the coast of the Yellow Sea, in Dandong City, Liaoning Province—a heroic border city known as the birthplace of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and one of China's largest and most beautiful border cities. Facing Sinuiju, North Korea across the river, it is the closest university to the national border and the only provincial public undergraduate institution in China with the geographical advantages of being along the river, coast, and border. Its higher education roots date back to the 1948 Anton Provincial Agricultural College, and it was established in April 2003 through the merger of over ten long-established colleges in the Dandong area. It is now a pilot university for transformation and development in Liaoning Province, a member of the China Association of Applied Technology Universities, and a national KAB entrepreneurship education base for college students.

学校现有临江、金山两个主校区，总占地面积82万平方米，建筑面积近41万平方米，全日制在校生1.6万余人。设有13个二级学院，开设42个本科专业、4个高职专业，涵盖经、教、文、理、工、农、医、管、艺九大学科门类，其中国家级一流本科专业1个，省级一流本科专业26个。师资队伍中，双师双能型教师占比49.2%，高级职称教师占比46.8%，拥有国务院特殊津贴专家、省百千万人才工程等各类高层次人才。

The university has two main campuses (Linjiang and Jinshan) covering a total area of 820,000 square meters with a building area of nearly 410,000 square meters, hosting over 16,000 full-time students. It comprises 13 secondary colleges offering 42 undergraduate programs and 4 vocational programs, spanning nine disciplines including economics, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and arts. It boasts 1 national first-class undergraduate program and 26 provincial first-class undergraduate programs. Among its faculty, 49.2% are "double-qualified" teachers with both academic and professional expertise, 46.8% hold senior professional titles, and it has high-level talents such as experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council and participants in Liaoning's "Millions of Talents Project."

依托沿边沿海区位优势，学校重点发展朝鲜语、服装设计与工程、旅游管理等特色专业，建有辽宁省功能纺织材料重点实验室、蓝莓新品种育种与采后处理重点实验室等3个省级科研平台，在柞蚕丝生态染整、蓝莓种植技术等领域达到国际先进水平。近年来深化国际交流，与韩国、俄罗斯等多国高校开展合作办学，是面向朝鲜半岛的国际教育合作交流桥头堡，累计为社会培养高素质应用型人才20余万人。

Leveraging its border and coastal location advantages, the university focuses on developing特色 majors such as Korean language, fashion design and engineering, and tourism management. It houses 3 provincial-level research platforms including the Liaoning Key Laboratory of Functional Textile Materials and the Liaoning Key Laboratory of Blueberry New Variety Breeding and Postharvest Treatment. Its achievements in eco-dyeing of tussah silk and blueberry cultivation technology have reached international advanced levels. In recent years, it has deepened international exchanges, carrying out cooperative education with universities in South Korea, Russia, and other countries, serving as a bridgehead for international educational cooperation with the Korean Peninsula. It has cultivated over 200,000 high-quality applied talents for society.
