临汾职业技术学院是国家教育部备案、山西省人民政府批准设立、临汾市人民政府举办、面向全国招生的一所独立设置的综合性全日制高等职业院校。学院由国家级重点中专——山西省临汾卫生学校、临汾农业机械学校、临汾农业学校、临汾工业学校合并成立，集普通教育、职业教育、成人教育、函授教育于一体，主要培养面向生产、建设、管理、财经、卫生等第一线的高层次应用型人才。

Linfen Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive full-time higher vocational college registered with the Ministry of Education, approved by the People's Government of Shanxi Province, sponsored by the People's Government of Linfen City, and enrolling students nationwide. The college was established by merging national key secondary technical schools: Shanxi Linfen Health School, Linfen Agricultural Machinery School, Linfen Agricultural School, and Linfen Industrial School. It integrates general education, vocational education, adult education, and correspondence education, mainly cultivating high-level applied talents for the frontline of production, construction, management, finance, and health.

学院坚持以就业为导向，以能力培养为本位，以服务地方经济建设为宗旨，全力培养创新能力强、专业技能精、综合素质高、适用范围广的高层次、实用型专业技术人才。现拥有护理、汽车检测与维修技术2个国家级职业技能实训基地，计算机应用技术、畜牧兽医、康复治疗技术、机电一体化技术、园艺技术、旅游管理6个省级重点建设实训基地；计算机应用技术、护理2个省级骨干专业，食品生物技术、医学检验技术为省级高水平重点建设专业。

The college adheres to employment-oriented education, ability-based training, and serving local economic development as its purpose, striving to cultivate high-level, practical professional and technical talents with strong innovation ability, proficient professional skills, high comprehensive quality, and wide applicability. It currently has 2 national-level vocational skills training bases for nursing and automobile inspection and maintenance technology, 6 provincial-level key construction training bases for computer application technology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, mechatronics technology, horticultural technology, and tourism management; 2 provincial-level key majors in computer application technology and nursing, and food biotechnology and medical laboratory technology as provincial high-level key construction majors.
