Linköping University (LiU) is a renowned public comprehensive university in Sweden, located in Linköping, the fifth-largest city in southern Sweden, approximately 200 kilometers from the capital Stockholm. Founded in the 1960s and officially elevated to university status in 1975, it is known for its innovative spirit and interdisciplinary education, being one of the youngest and fastest-growing universities in Sweden.

The university comprises four faculties: the Faculty of Science & Technology, Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences (affiliated with Linköping University Hospital), and Faculty of Educational Sciences. It offers over 100 programs spanning engineering, medicine, humanities, and social sciences. Internationally recognized for strengths in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and medicine, LiU houses the oldest computer science department in Northern Europe and was the first Swedish university to offer computer science programs. With close industry ties to giants like Ericsson and Saab, its graduates consistently rank among the top five in employment rates among Swedish universities.
