丽江师范学院是教育部批准成立的滇西北唯一省属全日制公办普通本科学校。学校始于1906年丽江府中学堂师范简易科，历经多次更名与合并，2024年5月31日正式升格为本科院校。历经118年办学实践，形成了百年师范教育传统深厚、民族团结进步工作示范显著、服务滇西北发展卓有成效的办学特色，为区域经济社会发展、基础教育和民族团结作出了积极贡献。

Lijiang Normal University is the only public full-time undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education in Northwest Yunnan. Founded in 1906 as the Teacher Training Section of Lijiang Prefectural Middle School, it underwent multiple name changes and mergers before being officially upgraded to an undergraduate university on May 31, 2024. With 118 years of educational practice, it has developed distinctive features of profound normal education tradition, remarkable ethnic unity efforts, and effective service to Northwest Yunnan's development, contributing significantly to regional economic and social progress, basic education, and ethnic unity.

学校占地面积965.68亩，校舍总建筑面积31.21万平方米，设有12个学院（其中教学实体型学院10个），开设小学教育、体育教育等5个本科专业及34个专科专业。现有专任教师中研究生学历占比超60%，拥有省级人才称号5人、市级人才29人，建有附属学校5所及实验实训基地273个。教学科研仪器设备总值7070.24万元，馆藏纸质图书96.81万册，电子图书18.49万册。建校以来培养各类人才6万余名，包括“七一勋章”获得者张桂梅等杰出校友，被誉为“滇西北教师的摇篮”。

The university covers an area of 965.68 mu (64.38 hectares) with a total building area of 312,100 square meters. It comprises 12 colleges (including 10 teaching-oriented colleges) offering 5 undergraduate programs (e.g., Primary Education, Physical Education) and 34 junior college programs. Over 60% of full-time teachers hold postgraduate degrees, including 5 provincial-level and 29 municipal-level talent awardees. It has 5 affiliated schools and 273 experimental training bases, with teaching and research equipment worth 70.7024 million yuan, 968,100 paper books, and 184,900 e-books. Having educated over 60,000 talents, including outstanding alumni like "July 1 Medal" winner Zhang Guimei, it is hailed as the "Cradle of Teachers in Northwest Yunnan."
