辽宁师范大学是一所省属重点大学，坐落在中国北方美丽的海滨城市——大连，是辽宁省双一流建设国内高水平大学重点建设高校、教育部卓越中学教师培养计划实施学校、教育部师范教育协同提质计划参与高校、辽宁省教育事业发展联盟理事长单位，是辽宁省基础教育师资培养与继续教育基地、教育科学研究咨询基地、高校师资培训基地、适应地区经济建设与社会发展需要的科研基地，是辽宁省教师教育最高学府。

Liaoning Normal University is a provincial key university located in Dalian, a beautiful coastal city in northern China. It is a key construction university for Liaoning Province's "Double First-Class" domestic high-level universities, an implementation school of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Middle School Teacher Training Program, a participating university of the Ministry of Education's Normal Education Collaborative Quality Improvement Program, and the chairman unit of Liaoning Provincial Education Development Alliance. It serves as a base for basic education teacher training and continuing education, an educational scientific research consulting base, a university teacher training base, and a research base adapting to regional economic construction and social development needs in Liaoning Province, and is the highest institution of teacher education in Liaoning Province.

作为新中国诞生后首批建立的高等师范院校之一，学校始建于1951年9月，初建时为旅大师范专科学校。1953年4月，更名为大连师范专科学校。1958年7月，大连师范专科学校和大连外国语专科学校合并，组建大连师范学院。1960年7月，更名为辽宁师范学院。1983年12月，更名为辽宁师范大学。74年来，学校与祖国共奋进，与时代同发展，砥砺耕耘，自强不息，先后为国家和社会培养了27万余名合格人才。

As one of the first batch of higher normal colleges established after the founding of New China, the university was founded in September 1951, initially named Lüda Normal Junior College. In April 1953, it was renamed Dalian Normal Junior College. In July 1958, Dalian Normal Junior College and Dalian Foreign Languages Junior College merged to form Dalian Normal College. In July 1960, it was renamed Liaoning Normal College. In December 1983, it was renamed Liaoning Normal University. Over the past 74 years, the university has advanced with the motherland and developed with the times, working hard and striving for self-improvement, and has successively cultivated more than 270,000 qualified talents for the country and society.

The university always adheres to the socialist orientation in running schools, fully implements the educational policies of the Party and the country, upholds the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, and Being a Model for Others", and adheres to the school-running philosophy of "People-Oriented, Quality First". While cultivating senior professionals with the integration of scientific and humanistic spirits and strong practical abilities, it is actively committed to modern teacher education, focusing on the long-term development of the university's comprehensiveness and internationalization. 学校现有教职工1900余人，专任教师1200余人。普通本科在校生14000余人，硕士、博士在校生6400余人，留学生近200人，继续教育学院2000余人。现有各级各类国家级人才15人次，国务院政府特殊津贴获得者11人；国家级教学团队2个，国家级教学名师3人。学校校园现有两个校区（包括黄河路校区、西山湖校区），设有21个学院（学部），设有研究生院和创新创业学院。有7个博士后科研流动站，10个一级学科博士点，4个二级学科博士点，2个博士专业学位授权点；24个一级学科硕士点，17个专业学位硕士点；4个辽宁省高等学校一流特色学科（一级学科），其中有3个一级学科入选辽宁省一流建设学科；8个辽宁省重点学科；2个ESI国际排名前1%学科。

The university currently has more than 1,900 faculty members, including over 1,200 full-time teachers. There are more than 14,000 regular undergraduate students, over 6,400 master's and doctoral students, nearly 200 international students, and more than 2,000 students in the School of Continuing Education. There are 15 national-level talents of various types at all levels, 11 recipients of special government allowances from the State Council; 2 national-level teaching teams and 3 national-level teaching masters. The university has two campuses (including Huanghe Road Campus and Xishan Lake Campus), with 21 colleges (faculties), a graduate school and a school of innovation and entrepreneurship. It has 7 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 10 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 4 second-level discipline doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral degree authorization points; 24 first-level discipline master programs, 17 professional master degree authorization points; 4 first-class characteristic disciplines (first-level disciplines) in Liaoning Province's universities, among which 3 first-level disciplines are selected into Liaoning Province's first-class construction disciplines; 8 key disciplines in Liaoning Province; and 2 disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI internationally.
