辽宁中医药大学成立于1958年,时称辽宁中医学院,是经辽宁省委批准,由辽宁省中医进修学校(1955年成立)和辽宁省中医医院(1956年成立)合并组建的辽宁省唯一一所中医药高等院校。2006年更名为辽宁中医药大学,2024年获批成为辽宁省人民政府与国家中医药管理局共建高校,是东北地区中医药教育、科研、医疗的核心基地之一。
Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (LNUTCM) was founded in 1958 as Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Approved by the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, it was established through the merger of Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School (founded in 1955) and Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (founded in 1956), becoming the only higher education institution for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Liaoning Province. Renamed to its current name in 2006, it was approved as a joint construction university by the Liaoning Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2024, emerging as a core base for TCM education, research, and medical services in Northeast China.

The university has developed a "one university, three campuses" layout, with its main campus in Shenyang and branch campuses in Dalian and Benxi, covering a total area of over 1,000 mu. Offering 27 undergraduate programs across 7 disciplines (medicine, science, engineering, management, humanities, law, and agriculture), it currently enrolls 13,500 students.
