六盘水职业技术学院于2002年组建成立，地处素有“中国凉都”之称的贵州省六盘水市，是六盘水唯一一所综合性高职院校。建校以来，学院秉承“厚德精技、服务社会”校训，坚持落实立德树人根本任务，立足产教融合办学特色，为区域经济社会发展提供了强有力的技术技能人才支撑。学院第二次党代会提出提升办学治校能力、实施“两轮”驱动发展战略等目标，致力于建成办学理念先进、治理体系完善、产教融合紧密、品牌特色鲜明的高水平高职学校。

Liupanshui Vocational and Technical College was established in 2002 and is located in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, known as "China's Cool Capital". It is the only comprehensive higher vocational college in Liupanshui. Since its establishment, the college has adhered to the school motto of "Virtue and Skills, Serving the Society", implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and based on the school-running characteristic of integration of industry and education, providing strong technical and skilled talent support for regional economic and social development. The second Party Congress of the college proposed goals such as improving the ability of running and governing the college and implementing the "two-wheel" driven development strategy, committed to building a high-level vocational school with advanced school-running concepts, perfect governance system, close integration of industry and education, and distinctive brand characteristics.

学院占地面积33.3万平方米，建筑面积19.2万平方米，现有全日制高职在校生8856人。设有工业、医学、护理、财经等8个二级系，开设煤矿智能开采技术、护理、大数据与会计等60个专业，常年招生专业25个。拥有教学仪器设备总值近2亿元，生均教学设备值2.39万元，建成3D打印协同创新中心、采矿模拟巷道及模拟掘进实训基地等教学项目20余项，获批教育部中德先进职业教育SGAVE项目试点及5个1+X证书制度试点。

The college covers an area of 333,000 square meters with a building area of 192,000 square meters, and currently has 8,856 full-time vocational college students. It has 8 secondary departments including Industry, Medicine, Nursing, and Finance, offering 60 majors such as Intelligent Coal Mining Technology, Nursing, and Big Data and Accounting, with 25 majors enrolled all year round. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is nearly 200 million yuan, with an average of 23,900 yuan per student. It has built more than 20 teaching projects such as 3D Printing Collaborative Innovation Center, Mining Simulation Roadway and Simulation Tunneling Training Base, and has been approved as the pilot of Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education SGAVE Project by the Ministry of Education and 5 pilot projects of the 1+X certificate system.

学院现有教职工504人，其中专任教师372人，硕士92人，副教授以上职称111人，省级职教名师1人。近三年年均毕业生3000人左右，就业主要以省内为主，省外以广东、浙江为多。煤矿智能开采技术专业群为省级立项建设高水平专业群，累计培养高素质技术技能人才5000余名，培训煤矿从业人员2万余名，多次承办贵州省职业院校师生职业技能大赛。

The college has 504 faculty members, including 372 full-time teachers, 92 with master's degrees, 111 with associate senior titles or above, and 1 provincial vocational education famous teacher. In the past three years, the college has an average of about 3,000 graduates per year, with employment mainly in the province, and mostly in Guangdong and Zhejiang outside the province. The Intelligent Coal Mining Technology professional group is a provincial-level high-level professional group under construction, having cultivated more than 5,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents and trained more than 20,000 coal mine employees, and has hosted the Guizhou Provincial Vocational College Teachers and Students Vocational Skills Competition for many times.
