闽南理工学院（Minnan University of Science and Technology）是经国家教育部批准创办的以工学学科为主，兼有理学、管理学、经济学、艺术学、文学、教育学等多学科，具有独立颁发高等学历文凭资格的全日制普通本科高等学校。学校前身为创建于1998年的石狮长兴工业学校；2001年经福建省人民政府批准成立泉州光电信息职业技术学院；2008年经教育部批准升格为本科高校，更名为闽南理工学院；2012年获得学士学位授予权；2018年1月新增为福建省2018-2020年硕士学位授予培育单位立项建设单位。

Minnan University of Science and Technology is a full-time general undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of China, mainly focusing on engineering disciplines with additional offerings in science, management, economics, arts, literature, and education. It has the qualification to independently issue higher education diplomas. The university traces its roots to Shishi Changxing Industrial School founded in 1998. In 2001, it was approved by the Fujian Provincial People's Government to become Quanzhou Vocational College of Optoelectronics and Information Technology. In 2008, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution with the current name upon approval by the Ministry of Education. It obtained the right to confer bachelor's degrees in 2012 and was listed as a candidate institution for master's degree programs in Fujian Province from 2018 to 2020 in January 2018.

学校位于我国历史文化名城、著名侨乡、“海上丝绸之路”起点——福建省泉州市，坐落在台湾海峡西岸、滨海城市石狮宝盖山风景区，校园占地面积1100余亩，总建筑面积60万余平方米。学校坚持“应用型、地方性、开放式、特色化”的办学定位，立足泉州，面向福建，辐射全国。现有光电与机电工程学院、电子与电气工程学院、智能建造工程学院等12个教学单位，设置机械设计制造及其自动化、光电信息科学与工程、机器人工程等43个专业，形成以工为主、多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university is located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province—a renowned historical and cultural city, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, and the starting point of the "Maritime Silk Road". It is situated on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait in the Baogai Mountain Scenic Area of Shishi, a coastal city. The campus covers an area of over 1,100 mu (approximately 73.3 hectares) with a total construction area of more than 600,000 square meters. Adhering to the orientation of "application-oriented, local-based, open, and distinctive" education, the university is rooted in Quanzhou, serves Fujian, and radiates nationwide. It comprises 12 teaching units, including the School of Optoelectronics and Mechatronics Engineering, School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and School of Intelligent Construction Engineering, offering 43 programs such as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, and Robotics Engineering, forming a discipline system centered on engineering with coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

学校秉持“为每一个学生的健康成长成才提供保障并创造价值”的办学理念，培养德智体美劳全面发展、具有较强创新创业能力和专业实践能力的高素质应用型创新人才。现有国家级一流本科专业建设点1个、省级8个，国家级一流课程1门、省级33门，承担教育部产学合作协同育人项目52项，拥有省级现代产业学院3个、科研创新平台6个。近三年师生获省级及以上奖项3000余项，毕业生去向落实率长期保持在90%以上，与300多家企业建立校企合作关系，为区域经济社会发展提供人才支撑。

Upholding the educational philosophy of "providing guarantee and creating value for every student's healthy growth and success", the university cultivates high-quality application-oriented innovative talents with all-round development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education, as well as strong innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities and professional practical skills. It currently has 1 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction site, 8 provincial-level ones, 1 national-level first-class course, and 33 provincial-level ones. The university has undertaken 52 industry-education integration projects of the Ministry of Education and established 3 provincial-level modern industrial colleges and 6 scientific research innovation platforms. In the past three years, teachers and students have won over 3,000 provincial and above awards, with the graduate employment rate remaining above 90% for a long time. It has established school-enterprise cooperation with more than 300 enterprises, providing talent support for regional economic and social development.
