闽南科技学院地处海上丝绸之路起点、著名侨乡福建省南安市，2001年由福建省“双一流”建设高校福建师范大学与菲律宾爱国华侨共同举办，是福建省首批设立的独立学院，实施普通高等学校全日制本科教育。学校坚持社会主义办学方向，明确为非营利办学，现任董事长、法定代表人为菲律宾华侨戴林亚燕女士，校长为袁自煌研究员。

Minan University of Science and Technology is located in Nan'an City, Fujian Province, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. Founded in 2001 by Fujian Normal University, a "Double First-Class" construction university in Fujian Province, and patriotic overseas Chinese from the Philippines, it is one of the first independent colleges established in Fujian Province, offering full-time undergraduate education for regular institutions of higher learning. The university adheres to the socialist orientation in running schools and is clearly a non-profit institution. The current chairman and legal representative is Ms. Dai Lin Yayan, an overseas Chinese from the Philippines, and the president is Researcher Yuan Zihuang.

学校现有康美、美林2个校区，占地面积800余亩，设有11个二级学院，开设涵盖理、工、经、管、文、艺等学科的29个本科专业，在校本科生8500多人。师资队伍中，2人享受国务院政府特殊津贴，380多人次获评省市级高层次人才，700多人次担任省、市、县级科技特派员，形成了一支高素质专业化的教学科研团队。

The university currently has two campuses, Kangmei and Meilin, covering an area of more than 800 mu. It has 11 secondary colleges, offering 29 undergraduate majors covering science, engineering, economics, management, literature, art and other disciplines, with more than 8,500 undergraduate students. Among the teaching staff, 2 enjoy special government allowances from the State Council, more than 380 have been awarded provincial and municipal high-level talents, and more than 700 have served as provincial, municipal and county-level science and technology commissioners, forming a high-quality and professional teaching and research team.

办学20多年来，学校主动对接产业需求，推进产教融合，与190多家企事业单位共建实践基地，开设15个企业冠名班，获省级以上教学科研平台40余个，其中国家级一流本科课程1门、省级一流本科专业建设点6个。学生在“互联网+”“挑战杯”等赛事中获国家级奖项300余项，毕业生累计超3万人，为区域经济社会发展输送了大批应用型人才。

Over the past 20 years of running the school, the university has actively aligned with industrial needs, promoted industry-education integration, built practice bases with more than 190 enterprises and institutions, set up 15 enterprise-named classes, and obtained more than 40 teaching and research platforms at or above the provincial level, including 1 national first-class undergraduate course and 6 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Students have won more than 300 national awards in competitions such as "Internet +" and "Challenge Cup", and the total number of graduates has exceeded 30,000, delivering a large number of applied talents for regional economic and social development.

学校先后荣获“福建省平安校园”“全国教育系统关心下一代工作先进集体”等称号，坚持以立德树人为根本，深化创新创业教育，构建“三级一体化”实践教学体系，致力于培养基础实、素质高、技能强的应用型高级专门人才。
