莫斯科国立师范大学始建于1872年11月1日，前身为俄罗斯历史上第一所女子学院，1990年由莫斯科国立列宁师范大学更为现名。作为俄罗斯师范教育领域的顶尖学府，该校主校区位于莫斯科市中心伏龙芝地铁站附近，在全国范围内拥有18个学院及7个分校，是俄罗斯最早招收外国留学生的高校之一，2017年被评为俄罗斯留学生教育最优秀高校。

Moscow State Pedagogical University was founded on November 1, 1872, originally established as the first women's college in Russian history. It was renamed from Moscow State Lenin Pedagogical University to its current name in 1990. As a leading institution in Russian pedagogical education, its main campus is located near the Frunze Metro Station in central Moscow, with 18 colleges and 7 branches nationwide. It was one of the first Russian universities to enroll international students and was rated as one of the best universities for international student education in Russia in 2017.

The university boasts a strong faculty of 1,650 members, including 222 doctoral professors, 920 associate professors, and 11 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It enrolls approximately 14,000 students across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. With diverse disciplines covering teacher education, arts, foreign languages, psychology, and special education, it has earned prestigious reputation particularly in teacher training, art education, and special education, having educated over 2,000 international students from 87 countries worldwide.
