国立中正大学的办学源头可追溯至1940年创建于江西泰和县杏岭的国立中正大学，是江西第一所由国家设立的综合性大学。1949年更名为南昌大学，1953年改为江西师范学院，1983年更名为江西师范大学，现为江西省优先发展的省属重点（师范）大学，融十一大学科门类于一体，在人才培养、科学研究等方面成果丰硕，砥砺出“静思笃行、持中秉正”的校训。
