东北石油大学（原名东北石油学院）始建于1960年，是伴随着大庆油田的发现而诞生的一所以石油石化为特色，工、理、管、文、经、法、教育、艺术等多学科协调发展的高校。学校位于黑龙江省大庆市，是黑龙江省与中国石油天然气集团公司、中国石油化工集团公司、中国海洋石油集团有限公司共建高校，国家“双一流”建设高校。

Northeast Petroleum University (formerly Northeast Petroleum Institute) was founded in 1960. It was born with the discovery of Daqing Oilfield and is a university with petroleum and petrochemical characteristics, coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, management, literature, economics, law, education, and art. Located in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, the university is a joint university built by Heilongjiang Province, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation, and a national "Double First-Class" construction university.

学校始终坚持以人才培养为中心，形成了本科、硕士、博士完整的人才培养体系，培养了大批石油石化行业和地方经济社会发展需要的优秀人才。在学科建设方面，石油与天然气工程学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科，拥有多个国家级和省级重点学科、特色专业，在石油工程、油气储运工程、资源勘查工程等领域具有雄厚的教学和科研实力。

In terms of discipline construction, the discipline of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering was selected into the national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines, with multiple national and provincial key disciplines and characteristic majors, and has strong teaching and scientific research strength in fields such as petroleum engineering, oil and gas storage and transportation engineering, and resource exploration engineering.
