南京林业大学是一所中央与地方共建、以地方管理为主的多科性大学，其前身为1902年创办的三江师范学堂森林科和1915年创建的金陵大学农科森林系，历经百年发展，现已成为以林科为特色，理工、农、文、管、经、法、艺等多学科协调发展的高水平大学。学校拥有南京新庄、淮安白马两个校区，占地面积10725亩，校舍建筑面积70余万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值8.3亿元，图书馆纸质藏书240万册。

Nanjing Forestry University is a multi-disciplinary university jointly built by the central and local governments and mainly managed by local authorities. Its predecessor was the Forestry Department of Sanjiang Normal School founded in 1902 and the Forestry Department of the Agricultural College of Nanjing University founded in 1915. After a century of development, it has now become a high-level university with forestry as its characteristic and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as science, engineering, agriculture, literature, management, economics, law, and art. The university has two campuses: Xinzhuang in Nanjing and Baima in Huai'an, covering an area of 10,725 mu, with a school building area of over 700,000 square meters, a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 830 million yuan, and 2.4 million paper books in the library.

学校现有本科专业70个，其中国家一流本科专业建设点28个，国家级特色专业建设点6个，省级一流本科专业建设点22个。拥有博士后科研流动站8个、一级学科博士点8个、一级学科硕士点24个、专业学位硕士点17个。林学、林业工程2个学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科名单，林业工程、生态学、林学、植物与动物科学、工程学、材料科学、化学、农业科学等8个学科进入ESI全球排名前1%。

The university currently has 70 undergraduate majors, including 28 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 6 national characteristic major construction sites, and 22 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It has 8 post-doctoral research stations, 8 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 24 first-level discipline master programs, and 17 professional degree master programs. Two disciplines, Forestry and Forestry Engineering, were selected into the national "Double First-Class" construction discipline list, and 8 disciplines including Forestry Engineering, Ecology, Forestry, Plant and Animal Science, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Agricultural Science entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养基础扎实、知识面宽、实践能力强、具有创新精神和国际视野的高素质人才。近年来，学校荣获国家级教学成果一等奖2项、二等奖8项，省级教学成果特等奖3项、一等奖21项。在全国大学生各类竞赛中成绩优异，先后获得“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛金奖、“挑战杯”全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛特等奖等多项荣誉。

学校大力推进科研创新，在林业资源培育、森林保护、木材加工利用、林产化工、园林规划设计等领域形成了鲜明特色和优势。拥有“林木遗传与生物技术”国家重点实验室、“南方现代林业”协同创新中心等国家级科研平台6个，省部级科研平台56个。近五年，学校承担国家级科研项目500余项，其中国家重点研发计划项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目等100余项，科研经费到款连续多年突破10亿元，获国家科技进步奖、国家技术发明奖等国家级奖项10余项。

The university vigorously promotes scientific research innovation, and has formed distinct characteristics and advantages in the fields of forestry resource cultivation, forest protection, wood processing and utilization, forest chemical industry, and garden planning and design. It has 6 national-level scientific research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Biotechnology and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Southern Modern Forestry, and 56 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms. In the past five years, the university has undertaken more than 500 national-level scientific research projects, including more than 100 national key R&D program projects and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The research funds received have exceeded 1 billion yuan for many consecutive years, and it has won more than 10 national awards such as the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the National Technological Invention Award.

学校积极开展国际交流与合作，与30多个国家和地区的100多所高校、科研机构建立了长期稳定的合作关系，是商务部“援外学历学位教育”项目实施高校。近年来，学校每年选派200余名学生赴国外交流学习，招收来自50多个国家的留学生，国际化办学水平不断提升。

The university actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, and has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 100 universities and scientific research institutions in more than 30 countries and regions. It is a university implementing the "Foreign Aid Academic Degree Education" project of the Ministry of Commerce. In recent years, the university has selected more than 200 students to study abroad every year, recruited international students from more than 50 countries, and the level of international education has been continuously improved.
