南京理工大学泰州科技学院成立于2004年6月，是经教育部批准设立，由国家“双一流”建设高校、全国重点大学南京理工大学和泰州市人民政府合作举办的本科高校，培养全日制普通本科生。办学以来，学校充分依托南京理工大学优质资源，确立了“明体达用”的校训和“求真务实、自强不息”的校风，致力于建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型大学，走出了一条适应社会经济和产业发展需求，既充分发挥高水平母体学校支撑优势，又真正体现自身办学特色的发展之路。

Nanjing University of Science and Technology Taizhou Institute of Science and Technology was founded in June 2004. It is an undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, jointly established by Nanjing University of Science and Technology (a national "Double First-Class" construction university and a national key university) and the Taizhou Municipal People's Government, dedicated to cultivating full-time ordinary undergraduate students. Since its establishment, the university has fully relied on the high-quality resources of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, established the school motto of "Mingti Dayong" (Understanding the Essence and Applying It) and the school spirit of "Seeking Truth and Being Pragmatic, Striving for Self-Improvement", and is committed to building a distinctive high-level application-oriented university. It has blazed a development path that adapts to the needs of social economy and industrial development, giving full play to the supporting advantages of the high-level parent university while truly reflecting its own school-running characteristics.

学校地处素有“汉唐古郡、淮海名区”之称的泰州市主城区，占地1003亩，校舍30万平方米，校园布局大气舒朗，现代气息浓郁，教学设施先进齐备，生活配套完善便利，建有10大实验实训中心；纸型藏书90余万册，电子图书300余万册，为12000余名在校学生潜心求学、健康成长提供了优越条件。学校积极对接国家、省市重大产业发展战略和长三角主导、支柱、新兴产业链，设立智能制造学院、计算机科学与工程学院、电子电气工程学院、城市建设与设计学院、环境与制药工程学院、商学院、外国语学院7个二级学院和基础科学部、马克思主义理论教学研究部2个教学部。

The university is located in the main urban area of Taizhou, known as "ancient county of Han and Tang Dynasties, famous district of Huaihai". It covers an area of 1003 mu with a school building area of 300,000 square meters. The campus layout is spacious and bright with a strong modern atmosphere, advanced and complete teaching facilities, and perfect and convenient living supporting facilities. It has 10 major experimental training centers, more than 900,000 paper books and more than 3 million e-books, providing superior conditions for more than 12,000 students to study and grow healthily. Actively responding to the major industrial development strategies of the country, provinces and cities as well as the leading, pillar and emerging industrial chains in the Yangtze River Delta, the university has set up 7 secondary colleges including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, School of Urban Construction and Design, School of Environmental and Pharmaceutical Engineering, School of Business, and School of Foreign Languages, as well as 2 teaching departments including the Department of Basic Sciences and the Teaching and Research Department of Marxist Theory.

学校依托母体校学科专业优势，开设涉及工、经、管、文、艺等五大学科门类的28个本科专业、59个特色专业方向，形成了紧密对接产业链的应用型专业体系。计算机科学与技术、环境工程、会计学、土木工程、机械工程、软件工程等6个专业入选江苏省高校一流本科专业建设点；计算机科学与技术、软件工程、会计学、电子信息工程、机械工程、机械电子工程等6个专业被认定为江苏省独立学院星级专业。学校积极营造因材施教、因势利导、尊重个性、激发潜能的教育环境，以入选教育部产教融合创新项目试点院校为契机，不断深化“政校行企”四方联动、协同育人模式，组建软件与大数据产业学院、建安学院、医药健康现代产业学院、电源技术学院等现代产业学院，培养高素质、应用型人才。

Relying on the disciplinary and professional advantages of the parent university, the university offers 28 undergraduate majors and 59 characteristic professional directions covering five disciplines including engineering, economics, management, literature and art, forming an application-oriented professional system closely connected with the industrial chain. Six majors including Computer Science and Technology, Environmental Engineering, Accounting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Software Engineering have been selected as first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Jiangsu Province; six majors including Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Accounting, Electronic Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering have been recognized as star majors of independent colleges in Jiangsu Province. The university actively creates an educational environment of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, guiding them according to circumstances, respecting individuality and stimulating potential. Taking the opportunity of being selected as a pilot university for the industry-education integration innovation project of the Ministry of Education, it continuously deepens the "government-school-industry-enterprise" four-party linkage and collaborative education model, and has established modern industrial colleges such as the School of Software and Big Data Industry, Jian'an College, Modern College of Medical and Health Industry, and School of Power Technology to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents.

学校依托母体校雄厚师资力量，形成了一支以专兼职教师为主体，以行业（企业）专家为补充的学术型、工程型相得益彰的高素质师资队伍，为卓越工程人才培养提供了可靠保障。创新创业成果丰硕，近五年学生科技创新团队在各级各类学科竞赛中荣获省部级以上奖项1738项，其中国家级奖项394项；学校大学生创业园作为省内独立学院中唯一一家，入选江苏省大学生创新创业示范基地。历届毕业生平均毕业去向落实率96.43%，超过80%的毕业生面向江浙沪就业，两度被江苏省教育厅授予“江苏省高校毕业生就业工作先进集体”，三次获评江苏省就业工作量化督导A等高校。

Relying on the strong faculty of the parent university, the university has formed a high-quality teaching team with full-time and part-time teachers as the main body and industry (enterprise) experts as supplements, combining academic and engineering talents, providing a reliable guarantee for the cultivation of outstanding engineering talents. It has achieved fruitful results in innovation and entrepreneurship. In the past five years, student science and technology innovation teams have won 1738 awards above the provincial and ministerial level in various discipline competitions, including 394 national awards. The university student entrepreneurship park, as the only one among independent colleges in the province, was selected as a demonstration base for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship in Jiangsu Province. The average employment rate of graduates over the years is 96.43%, with more than 80% of graduates employed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. It has been awarded the "Advanced Collective for Employment Work of College Graduates in Jiangsu Province" twice by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and rated as Grade A university in Jiangsu Province's employment work quantitative supervision three times.
