南京师范大学中北学院创办于1999年，由百年名校南京师范大学与南京师范大学教育发展基金会共同举办，是首批经国家教育部批准确认的独立学院之一和经江苏省事业单位登记管理局批准成立的公益性事业单位。学院秉承南京师范大学优良的办学传统和先进的教育理念，依托南京师范大学优质教育教学资源，恪守“正德厚生、笃学敏行”的校训，践行“奋进中北、和谐中北、快乐中北”理念，育就了“团结、勤奋、朴实、奉献”的优良院风，聚焦区域领先、特色鲜明的高水平应用型大学建设目标，科学定位，强化特色办学，以提高本科人才培养质量为核心，致力培养高素质具有创新精神的应用型人才。

Nanjing Normal University Zhongbei College was founded in 1999. It is jointly organized by Nanjing Normal University, a century-old prestigious university, and the Education Development Foundation of Nanjing Normal University. It is one of the first independent colleges approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and a public welfare institution approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Institutional Registration and Administration. Adhering to the fine educational traditions and advanced educational concepts of Nanjing Normal University, relying on its high-quality educational and teaching resources, the college abides by the school motto of "Virtue, Kindness, Diligence and Action", practices the concept of "Striving Zhongbei, Harmonious Zhongbei, Happy Zhongbei", and has cultivated the fine college spirit of "Unity, Diligence, Simplicity and Dedication". 学院在江苏省教育厅、丹阳市委市政府的倾力支持下，于2017年迁址丹阳办学，地址位于丹阳市正德路8号，占地总面积900亩，规划建设总建筑面积38.75万平方米。校园基础设施完备，教学科研条件优越，是一所现代化的智慧校园、生态校园、人文校园、低碳校园、开放校园。学院坚持以专业建设为龙头，提升人才培养与产业需求契合度，基本形成了以语言类、管理类、工程技术类和艺术类四大专业群。现有在校生10694人，教职工457人，下设9个二级学院，分别为人文学院、外国语学院、商学院、法政学院、信息工程学院、工学院、生命科学与环境工程学院、美术与设计学院、音乐学院，共有40个本科专业，涉及经、法、文、理、工、管、艺等门类。

With the strong support of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province and the Party Committee and Municipal Government of Danyang City, the college moved to Danyang for running school in 2017. It is located at No. 8 Zhengde Road, Danyang City, covering a total area of 900 mu, with a planned total construction area of 387,500 square meters. The campus has complete infrastructure and superior teaching and research conditions, and is a modern smart campus, ecological campus, humanistic campus, low-carbon campus and open campus. The college insists on professional construction as the leading factor, improves the契合度 between talent training and industrial demand, and has basically formed four major professional groups: language, management, engineering technology and art. There are 10,694 students and 457 faculty members. It has 9 secondary colleges, namely the College of Humanities, the College of Foreign Languages, the Business School, the School of Law and Politics, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Engineering, the School of Life Sciences and Environmental Engineering, the School of Fine Arts and Design, and the School of Music, with a total of 40 undergraduate majors, involving economics, law, literature, science, engineering, management, art and other disciplines.
