南通大学是江苏省人民政府和交通运输部共建的综合性大学，坐落于长三角北翼经济中心、国家历史文化名城——南通。学校始建于1912年，历经百年发展，现已成为一所学科门类齐全、教学科研实力雄厚、办学特色鲜明的江苏省重点建设高校。

Nantong University is a comprehensive university jointly built by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Transport, located in Nantong, an economic center in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and a national historical and cultural city. Founded in 1912, the university has developed into a key construction university in Jiangsu Province with complete disciplines, strong teaching and research strength, and distinctive school-running characteristics after a century of development.

学校设有20个学院、1个独立学院和1所直属附属医院，涵盖工学、医学、理学、文学、经济学、管理学、法学、教育学、艺术学等九大学科门类，拥有7个博士后科研流动站、7个一级学科博士点、31个一级学科硕士点、22个硕士专业学位点。

The university has 20 colleges, 1 independent college and 1 directly affiliated hospital, covering nine disciplines including engineering, medicine, science, literature, economics, management, law, education and art. It has 7 post-doctoral research stations, 7 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 31 first-level discipline master programs and 22 master professional degree programs.
