North University of China is a multidisciplinary teaching and research university jointly built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People's Government of Shanxi Province, mainly managed by Shanxi Province. Its predecessor was the Taihang Industrial School, an ordnance school founded by the General Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army in the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area in May 1941, known as "the first school of people's ordnance".
