西北政法大学坐落于世界历史文化名城西安，是一所法学特色鲜明，哲学、经济学、管理学、文学等多学科相互支撑、协调发展的多科性大学。学校前身是1937年中国共产党在延安创办的陕北公学，历经延安大学、西北人民革命大学、西北政法干部学校、中央政法干部学校西北分校等时期，1958年正式定名西北政法学院，2006年更名为西北政法大学。作为国家法治人才培养基地，学校始终坚持立德树人，聚焦“德法兼修、明法笃行”的育人目标，为国家和社会培养了大批高素质法治人才和各类专门人才。

Northwest University of Political Science and Law is located in Xi'an, a world-famous historical and cultural city. It is a multidisciplinary university with distinctive characteristics in law, and mutual support and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as philosophy, economics, management, and literature. The predecessor of the university was the Northern Shaanxi Public School founded by the Communist Party of China in Yan'an in 1937. It went through periods such as Yan'an University, Northwest People's Revolutionary University, Northwest Political and Legal Cadre School, and Northwest Branch of the Central Political and Legal Cadre School. It was officially named Northwest Institute of Political Science and Law in 1958 and renamed Northwest University of Political Science and Law in 2006. As a national base for cultivating legal talents, the university has always adhered to fostering virtue through education, focusing on the educational goal of "cultivating both morality and law, and practicing law with sincerity", and has cultivated a large number of high-quality legal talents and various professionals for the country and society.

学校学科实力雄厚，法学学科为国家重点学科，入选国家“双一流”建设学科名单，在全国第四轮学科评估中获评A-。学校拥有法学、哲学、理论经济学、新闻传播学等一级学科硕士学位授权点，以及法律硕士、社会工作硕士等专业学位授权点，形成了完整的人才培养体系。同时，学校积极推进科研创新，建有多个国家级、省部级科研平台，在法学理论、宪法学与行政法学、刑法学等领域研究成果丰硕，为国家法治建设和区域经济社会发展提供了有力的智力支持。

The university has strong disciplinary strength. The law discipline is a national key discipline, selected into the national "Double First-Class" construction discipline list, and rated A- in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation. The university has first-level discipline master's degree authorization points in law, philosophy, theoretical economics, journalism and communication, as well as professional degree authorization points such as Master of Laws and Master of Social Work, forming a complete talent training system. At the same time, the university actively promotes scientific research innovation, has established multiple national and provincial-level scientific research platforms, and has achieved fruitful research results in the fields of legal theory, constitutional law and administrative law, criminal law, etc., providing strong intellectual support for national legal construction and regional economic and social development.
