宁夏民族职业技术学院是一所特色鲜明的全日制高等职业院校，前身为创建于1952年的宁夏省民族公学，1956年更名为吴忠师范学校。2001年，吴忠师范学校、吴忠职工中专、吴忠职教中心三校合并为吴忠职业技术学院，2006年更名为宁夏民族职业技术学院，2009年迁入现址。学院占地面积1000亩，建筑面积近16万平方米，现有教职工437人，全日制在校学生近8000人（其中区内生源占90%）。

Ningxia Vocational and Technical College for Nationalities is a distinctive full-time higher vocational college. Its predecessor was Ningxia Provincial National Public School founded in 1952, which was renamed Wuzhong Normal School in 1956. In 2001, Wuzhong Normal School, Wuzhong Staff Technical Secondary School, and Wuzhong Vocational Education Center merged to form Wuzhong Vocational and Technical College. In 2006, it was renamed Ningxia Vocational and Technical College for Nationalities and moved to its current location in 2009. The college covers an area of 1000 mu, with a construction area of nearly 160,000 square meters, 437 faculty members, and nearly 8,000 full-time students (90% of whom are from within the region).

学院现设农牧科技系、机电工程系、康复护理系、教育系、经济管理系、艺术设计系、幼儿教育系7个系，开设基础教育、健康产业、艺术设计、机电工程、现代纺织、经济管理、奶业产业等多门类专业28个。现代纺织技术和室内艺术设计2个专业建成教育部现代学徒制试点专业；教育部创新发展行动计划骨干专业3个；学前教育、护理、室内艺术设计3个专业获批自治区高等职业教育高水平专业；护理和机电一体化专业群被确定为自治区高水平专业群；2021年，学院被确定为自治区双高院校建设单位。近年来，毕业生就业率达到96%以上，先后荣获黄炎培职业教育奖优秀学校奖、全国巾帼建功先进集体、全国五四红旗团委等荣誉称号。

The college now has 7 departments: Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Rehabilitation Nursing, Education, Economic Management, Art Design, and Early Childhood Education. It offers 28 majors in various fields such as basic education, health industry, art design, mechanical and electrical engineering, modern textile, economic management, and dairy industry. Two majors, Modern Textile Technology and Interior Art Design, have been established as pilot majors for the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education; 3 are backbone majors under the Ministry of Education's Innovation and Development Action Plan; 3 majors (Preschool Education, Nursing, Interior Art Design) have been approved as high-level majors in higher vocational education of the autonomous region; Nursing and Mechatronics professional groups have been identified as high-level professional groups of the autonomous region. In 2021, the college was identified as a construction unit for double-high colleges in the autonomous region. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has reached over 96%, and it has successively won honors such as the Excellent School Award of Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, National Advanced Collective of Women's Contribution, and National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee.
