宁夏师范大学坐落于宁夏南部六盘山下历史名城——固原市原州区，隶属宁夏回族自治区人民政府管理，是宁夏唯一的师范类本科院校。学校前身为1975年建立的六盘山大学，1978年经国务院批准改建为固原师范专科学校，1994年更名为固原师范高等专科学校，2006年升格为本科院校并更名为宁夏师范学院，2024年正式更名为宁夏师范大学。作为自治区教育厅与固原市政府共建单位，学校是"服务国家特殊需求人才培养项目"硕士专业学位研究生试点单位，也是宁夏首所师范生免费教育试点学校。

Ningxia Normal University is located in Yuanzhou District, Guyuan City, a historic city at the foot of the Liupan Mountains in southern Ningxia. Affiliated to the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, it is the only normal undergraduate institution in Ningxia. The university originated from Liupan Mountain University established in 1975, which was restructured into Guyuan Teachers College with State Council approval in 1978, renamed Guyuan Teachers College in 1994, upgraded to an undergraduate institution named Ningxia Teachers College in 2006, and officially renamed Ningxia Normal University in 2024. As a joint construction unit of the Autonomous Region Education Department and Guyuan Municipal Government, it is a pilot unit for master's professional degree graduate training under the "Talent Training Program for Serving National Special Needs" and the first pilot school for free normal education in Ningxia.

学校现有古雁、文苑两个校区，总占地面积近1400亩，校舍建筑总面积32.2万平方米，中外文纸质图书119万余册，数字资源120万余种。设有16个教学机构、9个教辅机构、7个科研机构和19个党群行政机构，涵盖法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学、交叉学科等9大学科门类，开设43个普通本科专业，拥有5个一级学科硕士学位授权点和7个专业学位授权类别，形成了研究生教育、本科教育、高等职业教育、成人继续教育、留学生教育等多层次、多类型的人才培养体系。建校50年来，学校累计培养各类人才6万余人，被誉为"六盘山下人才基地，宁南山区教师摇篮"。

The university has two campuses, Guyan and Wenyuan, covering a total area of nearly 1,400 mu with a total building area of 322,000 square meters. It boasts over 1.19 million Chinese and foreign paper books and more than 1.2 million digital resources. The university comprises 16 teaching institutions, 9 supporting institutions, 7 research institutions, and 19 party and administrative organizations, covering 9 disciplines including law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, art, and interdisciplinary studies. It offers 43 regular undergraduate programs, 5 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 7 professional degree authorization categories, forming a multi-level and multi-type talent training system including graduate education, undergraduate education, higher vocational education, adult continuing education, and international student education. Over the past 50 years since its establishment, the university has cultivated more than 60,000 talents of various types, known as the "Talent Base at the Foot of Liupan Mountains and the Cradle of Teachers in Southern Ningxia."

学校坚持"学高为师、身正为范"的校训，弘扬"勤奋、求是、创新、奉献"的校风，积极开展对外交流合作，与宁夏大学实施联合办学，与华东师范大学建立对口支援关系，同20余所国（境）内外高校建立友好合作关系。近年来，学校先后获批自治区西部一流学科建设单位、硕士学位授予单位、教育部师范教育协同提质计划入选高校，2023年被列入自治区2024-2026新增博士学位授予立项建设单位，正朝着建设教师教育特色优势鲜明、服务地方发展能力强的西部地区高水平师范大学目标迈进。

Adhering to the motto of "Learned as a Teacher, Virtuous as a Model" and promoting the school spirit of "Diligence, Seeking Truth, Innovation, and Dedication," the university actively conducts foreign exchanges and cooperation. It has implemented joint education with Ningxia University, established counterpart support relations with East China Normal University, and built friendly cooperative relations with more than 20 domestic and foreign universities. In recent years, the university has been approved as a construction unit for first-class disciplines in western China, a master's degree-granting unit, and a university selected into the Ministry of Education's Teacher Education Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan. In 2023, it was listed as a proposed construction unit for adding doctoral degree authorization from 2024 to 2026 in the autonomous region, moving towards the goal of building a high-level normal university in western China with distinctive teacher education characteristics and strong ability to serve local development.
