南阳理工学院坐落于河南省南阳市，是一所经教育部批准的全日制普通本科高等院校，入选教育部数据中国“百校工程”培育院校、河南省示范性应用技术类型本科院校。学校前身是1987年创办的南阳大学，2004年升格为本科院校并更名为南阳理工学院，2011年获批为河南省重点建设高校，2016年被确定为河南省示范性应用技术类型本科院校，2021年入选河南省“十四五”时期重点建设的示范性应用技术类型本科高校。

Nanyang Institute of Technology is located in Nanyang City, Henan Province. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is selected into the "Hundred Schools Project" cultivation institutions of Data China by the Ministry of Education and a demonstration application-oriented undergraduate university in Henan Province. The predecessor of the school was Nanyang University founded in 1987. It was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Nanyang Institute of Technology in 2004. In 2011, it was approved as a key construction university in Henan Province. In 2016, it was determined as a demonstration application-oriented undergraduate university in Henan Province. In 2021, it was selected into the key construction demonstration application-oriented undergraduate universities in Henan Province during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

学校现有工、管、文、理、经、法、医、艺术、教育等九大学科门类，形成了以工科为主，多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。设有19个教学院（部），开设62个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点13个，省级一流本科专业建设点23个，国家级特色专业、省级特色专业、省级重点学科等多项专业建设成果。学校拥有国家级众创空间、国家级工程实践教育中心、国家级大学生校外实践教育基地等多个国家级教学科研平台，以及省级重点实验室、省级工程技术研究中心等省级平台30余个。

The university currently has nine disciplines including engineering, management, liberal arts, science, economics, law, medicine, art, and education, forming a discipline and professional system with engineering as the main focus and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. It has 19 teaching colleges (departments) and offers 62 undergraduate majors, including 13 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 23 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and many professional construction achievements such as national characteristic majors, provincial characteristic majors, and provincial key disciplines. The university has many national-level teaching and research platforms such as a national mass innovation space, a national engineering practice education center, and a national college student off-campus practice education base, as well as more than 30 provincial-level platforms such as provincial key laboratories and provincial engineering technology research centers.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，注重培养学生的创新精神和实践能力，积极推进产教融合、校企合作。近年来，学生在全国大学生“互联网+”创新创业大赛、“挑战杯”全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛等国家级赛事中屡获佳绩。学校先后荣获“全国创新创业典型经验高校”“河南省文明校园”等荣誉称号，为区域经济社会发展培养了大批高素质应用型人才。
