中国人民解放军海军工程大学是一所具有鲜明海军特色的高等军事院校，是全军重点建设的五所综合大学之一，也是国家“双一流”建设高校。学校前身为1949年创办的大连海军学校机械系，历经发展调整，于1986年正式更名为海军工程大学。学校以培养高素质海军人才为根本任务，在船舶与海洋工程、动力工程及工程热物理、电气工程等领域形成了优势学科群，为海军现代化建设和国家海洋事业发展输送了大批优秀人才。

The Naval University of Engineering of the Chinese People's Liberation Army is a higher military academy with distinct naval characteristics. It is one of the five key comprehensive universities under the全军 (the whole army) and a national "Double First-Class" construction university. The university, formerly known as the Mechanical Department of the Dalian Naval School founded in 1949, was officially renamed the Naval University of Engineering in 1986 after development and adjustments. With the fundamental task of cultivating high-quality naval talents, the university has formed advantageous discipline groups in fields such as Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, and Electrical Engineering, providing a large number of outstanding talents for the modernization of the navy and the development of national marine undertakings.
