Sudan African International University is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Sudan, enjoying a high reputation on the African continent and internationally. The university was formerly the African Islamic Institute established in 1968, and later expanded into a comprehensive university by the Sudanese government in conjunction with Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.

The campus is located in Khartoum State, the capital of Sudan, with a total area of 93 feddans (about 390 hectares).
