曲靖师范学院办学积淀深厚，其历史可追溯至1907年的曲靖府师范传习所和1912年的云南省立第三师范学校。2000年3月，经教育部批准，由曲靖师范高等专科学校、曲靖教育学院、曲靖师范学校合并组建为曲靖师范学院，2024年成为硕士学位授予单位。学校百年育人，已培养全日制合格教师及其他应用型人才14万名，职后培训教师15万余人次，曲靖市75%的专任教师、82%的教学骨干、74%的中小学校长均毕业于此。

Qujing Normal University has a profound educational heritage, tracing its roots back to the Qujing Prefecture Normal Training Institute in 1907 and Yunnan Provincial No.3 Normal School in 1912. Approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2000, it was established through the merger of Qujing Teachers College, Qujing Institute of Education, and Qujing Normal School, becoming a master's degree-granting institution in 2024. Over a century of education, the university has cultivated 140,000 qualified full-time teachers and other applied talents, and trained over 150,000 in-service teachers. Notably, 75% of full-time teachers, 82% of teaching backbones, and 74% of primary and secondary school principals in Qujing City are its alumni.

学校办学基础扎实，校园面积92.97万平方米，建筑面积43.89万平方米，非流动资产总值107046.03万元，纸质藏书162万册（折算藏书270万册）。现有教职员工1035人（含外籍教师17人），全日制本科在校生15737人，10个师范专业为第一批次招生。师资力量雄厚，专任教师中高级职称占比43.04%，拥有国务院特殊津贴专家等各类高层次人才22人，入选云南省兴滇英才支持计划32人，2022年以来16人次入选全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单。

The university boasts solid educational foundations with a campus area of 929,700 square meters, building area of 438,900 square meters, and non-current assets totaling 107,046.03 yuan. It houses 1.62 million paper books (equivalent to 2.7 million books). The faculty comprises 1,035 staff (including 17 foreign teachers), with 15,737 full-time undergraduate students and 10 teacher education programs enrolled in the first batch. The teaching staff is strong, with senior titles accounting for 43.04% of full-time teachers, including 22 high-level talents such as experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 32 selected into Yunnan's Xingdian Talents Support Program, and 16 entries in the world's top 2% scientists list since 2022.

学校办学实力较强，汉语言文学、历史学为国家级一流本科专业建设点，汉语言文学是国家级特色专业，另有省级一流本科专业建设点16个、省级特色（重点）专业5个。植物与动物科学学科进入ESI全球排名前1%，建有院士工作站等科研平台19个，在《Nature》发表4篇封面文章。现有教育、材料与化工、社会工作3个硕士学位授权点，积极开展国际交流，与多国高校建立合作关系，2024年软科中国大学排名中其国际竞争力进入前200名。

The university demonstrates strong educational strength, with Chinese Language and Literature, and History as national first-class undergraduate program construction sites; Chinese Language and Literature is also a national characteristic major. It has 16 provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 5 provincial characteristic (key) majors. The discipline of Plant and Animal Science ranks among the top 1% in ESI globally. It hosts 19 research platforms including academician workstations and has published 4 cover articles in Nature. Currently offering 3 master's degree programs (Education, Materials and Chemical Engineering, Social Work), the university actively engages in international exchanges with universities worldwide, ranking among the top 200 in international competitiveness in the 2024 Soft Science China University Rankings.
