青岛科技大学是山东省属重点建设的大学，是一所以工为主，理工结合，理、工、文、经、管、医、法、艺、教等学科协调发展，以材料科学、化学工程、应用化学、机械工程、自动化、信息与计算机等学科为特色的多科性大学。学校前身是创建于1950年的沈阳轻工业高级职业学校，1956年迁至青岛，改名为青岛橡胶工业学校，1958年正式升格为本科院校——青岛化工学院，1984年成为全国首批学士学位授予单位，1998年由化学工业部划转到山东省，2001年青岛工艺美术学校并入，2002年更名为青岛科技大学。

Qingdao University of Science and Technology is a key university under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province. It is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, integrating science and engineering, and coordinating the development of disciplines such as science, engineering, literature, economics, management, medicine, law, art, and education. It features disciplines like materials science, chemical engineering, applied chemistry, mechanical engineering, automation, information and computer science. The university's predecessor was Shenyang Light Industry Advanced Vocational School founded in 1950. In 1956, it was moved to Qingdao and renamed Qingdao Rubber Industry School. In 1958, it was officially upgraded to an undergraduate institution - Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology. In 1984, it became one of the first batch of bachelor's degree-granting units in China. In 1998, it was transferred from the Ministry of Chemical Industry to Shandong Province. In 2001, Qingdao School of Arts and Crafts was merged into it, and in 2002, it was renamed Qingdao University of Science and Technology.

学校现有崂山、四方、高密、中德国际合作区（胶州）四个校区，校舍面积100余万平方米，图书馆馆藏各类文献资料300余万册，中外文数据库100余个。学校设有72个本科专业，拥有5个博士学位授权一级学科，23个硕士学位授权一级学科，16个硕士专业学位类别，形成了以工为主，理工结合，多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。学校现有教职工2800余人，其中两院院士院士10人（含双聘），国家杰青、长江学者、国家优青等国家级人才100余人，泰山学者、齐鲁工业大师等省部级人才200余人。

The university currently has four campuses: Laoshan, Sifang, Gaomi, and Sino-German International Cooperation Zone (Jiaozhou), with a school building area of over 1 million square meters. The library has a collection of more than 3 million volumes of various documents and materials, and more than 100 Chinese and foreign databases. The university offers 72 undergraduate majors, with 5 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 23 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, and 16 categories of master's professional degrees, forming a discipline and professional system focusing on engineering, integrating science and engineering, and developing multiple disciplines in a coordinated manner. The university currently has more than 2,800 faculty members, including 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering (including double-employed academicians), more than 100 national-level talents such as National Outstanding Youth Fund winners, Yangtze River Scholars, and National Excellent Youth Fund winners, and more than 200 provincial and ministerial-level talents such as Taishan Scholars and Qilu Industrial Masters.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养学生的创新精神和实践能力，人才培养质量得到社会广泛认可。学校是国家“卓越工程师教育培养计划”试点高校、“新工科研究与实践项目”入选高校，山东省“应用型人才培养特色名校”立项建设单位。学校积极开展国际交流与合作，与20多个国家和地区的100余所高校建立了友好合作关系，设立了中德、中加、中日等合作办学项目，国际化办学水平不断提升。

The university actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 universities in more than 20 countries and regions, and has set up Sino-German, Sino-Canadian, Sino-Japanese and other cooperative education programs, and the level of internationalized education has been continuously improved.
