Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology is a full-time application-oriented undergraduate university focusing on engineering with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Located in Deyang City, which has a profound historical and cultural heritage and is known as "China's Major Technical Equipment Manufacturing Base", the university has two campuses in Luojiang and Mianzhu, covering an area of 2432 mu. Adhering to the school-running orientation of "based in Deyang, serving Sichuan, radiating the west, facing the whole country and the world" to build a distinctive regional first-class application-oriented university, it is committed to cultivating application-oriented innovative talents integrating professionalism and innovation.

学校前身为1995年成立的剑南武术馆，历经四川剑南武术学院、四川警安职业学院、四川工业管理职业学院等发展阶段，2014年5月经教育部批准升格为全日制本科院校并更名为四川工业科技学院。学校是中国首批国防教育特色本科学校、全国教育改革创新示范院校、四川省依法办学示范学校、四川省教育综合改革国际合作和创新创业试点学校。

The university's predecessor was Jiannan Wushu Hall founded in 1995. It went through development stages such as Sichuan Jiannan Wushu College, Sichuan Police and Security Vocational College, and Sichuan Industrial Management Vocational College. In May 2014, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to a full-time undergraduate university and renamed Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology. It is one of the first batch of national defense education characteristic undergraduate schools in China, a national education reform and innovation demonstration college, a model school for law-based school running in Sichuan Province, and a pilot school for international cooperation and innovation and entrepreneurship in Sichuan Province's comprehensive education reform.

学校现有4个专业入选四川省高校重点特色专业质量提升计划，2个四川省民办高校特色专业，2个四川省第二批应用示范专业，2个四川省一流专业建设点。近年来，学校高度重视学科建设与科研创新，不断深化产教融合、校企合作，先后与多家企业建立战略合作关系，为学生提供实践机会与就业岗位，助力毕业生实现更高质量就业，为社会输送更多高素质应用型人才。

At present, the university has 4 majors selected into the quality improvement plan of key characteristic majors in Sichuan Province's colleges and universities, 2 characteristic majors of private colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, 2 second batch of application demonstration majors in Sichuan Province, and 2 first-class major construction sites in Sichuan Province. In recent years, the university has attached great importance to discipline construction and scientific research innovation, continuously deepened the integration of production and education as well as school-enterprise cooperation, and has successively established strategic cooperative relations with many enterprises to provide students with practical opportunities and employment positions, helping graduates achieve higher-quality employment and输送 more high-quality applied talents to the society.
