四川传媒学院始建于1997年，前身为成都理工大学广播影视学院，2013年经教育部批准转设为独立设置的综合类民办普通本科高校。学校坚持“为党育人、为国育才”的初心使命，秉承“博学笃行、德艺双馨”校训，以培养适应传媒行业和地方经济社会发展需求的高素质应用型人才为目标，开设50个本科专业，涵盖文学、艺术学、管理学、工学、经济学和教育学等6大学科门类，拥有国家级一流专业建设点5个、省级一流专业建设点6个。

Sichuan University of Media and Communications (SUMC) was founded in 1997, formerly known as the College of Radio, Film and Television of Chengdu University of Technology. In 2013, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into an independent comprehensive private undergraduate university. Adhering to the mission of "Cultivating Talents for the Party and the Country" and the school motto of "Erudition and Practice, Virtue and Art", SUMC aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents to meet the needs of the media industry and local economic and social development. It offers 50 undergraduate majors covering 6 disciplines including literature, art, management, engineering, economics and education, with 5 national first-class professional construction sites and 6 provincial first-class professional construction sites.

学校主校区位于成都市郫都区，另有蒲江、阆中两个实习实训校区，总占地面积2397.95亩，教学科研仪器设备总值3.14亿元。拥有4K超高清电视转播车、全媒体交互式演播中心、省级超高清虚拟仿真实验教学中心等先进教学设施，与索尼、松下等企业共建高端实验室，并与美国纽约电影学院合作举办影视摄影与制作专业本科教育项目，形成了“产教融合、实践育人”的鲜明特色。

The main campus is located in Pidu District, Chengdu, with two internship and training campuses in Pujiang and Langzhong, covering a total area of 2397.95 mu and boasting teaching and research equipment worth 314 million yuan. Equipped with advanced teaching facilities such as 4K ultra-high-definition TV OB vans, all-media interactive studio centers, and provincial ultra-high-definition virtual simulation experimental teaching centers, SUMC has established high-end laboratories in cooperation with enterprises like Sony and Panasonic. It also collaborates with the New York Film Academy (USA) to offer an undergraduate education program in Film and Television Photography and Production, forming a distinct feature of "industry-education integration and practical talent cultivation".
