中南民族大学是一所直属国家民族事务委员会的综合性普通高等院校，坐落于湖北省武汉市。学校创建于1951年，前身为中央民族学院中南分院，1985年更名为中南民族学院，2002年升格为中南民族大学。学校始终坚持以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为根本任务，着力培养各民族优秀人才，是国家“少数民族骨干计划”资格高校、湖北省“国内一流大学建设高校”。

South-Central Minzu University is a comprehensive ordinary institution of higher learning directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Founded in 1951, the university was formerly known as the Central South Branch of Central University for Nationalities. It was renamed South-Central University for Nationalities in 1985 and upgraded to South-Central Minzu University in 2002. The university has always adhered to the fundamental task of forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation, striving to cultivate outstanding talents of all ethnic groups. It is a qualified university for the "National Minority Talented Personnel Program" and a "domestic first-class university construction university" in Hubei Province.

学校学科门类齐全，涵盖文、理、工、医、经、管、法、教、艺等九大学科门类，拥有民族学、中国语言文学、生物学等多个国家级一流本科专业建设点，形成了以民族学、人类学、社会学、经济学、法学、教育学等为特色，多学科协调发展的学科体系。校园环境优美，教学设施先进，现有全日制在校学生28000余人，教职工2200余人，其中高级职称人员占比超过40%。

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering nine disciplines including arts, science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, law, education, and art. It has multiple national first-class undergraduate major construction sites such as ethnology, Chinese language and literature, and biology. It has formed a disciplinary system with ethnology, anthropology, sociology, economics, law, education, etc. as characteristics and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The campus has a beautiful environment and advanced teaching facilities. There are more than 28,000 full-time students and more than 2,200 faculty members, of which more than 40% have senior professional titles.
