山东华宇工学院由德州亚太集团有限公司出资举办，前身是创建于2002年的德州华宇学校，2004年改建为专科层次的山东华宇职业技术学院，2014年升格为全日制普通本科高校，2023年9月通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估。学校始终坚持社会主义办学方向，秉持“以人为本、对接需求、应用为魂、追求卓越”的办学理念，以建百年华宇、创特色名校为愿景，为学生成长发展提供高质量教育服务，为地方经济社会发展培养适用人才和技术。

Shandong Huayu University of Technology was founded by Dezhou Yatai Group Co., Ltd. Its predecessor was Dezhou Huayu School established in 2002. In 2004, it was restructured into Shandong Huayu Vocational and Technical College at the junior college level, and upgraded to a full-time ordinary undergraduate university in 2014. In September 2023, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education. Adhering to the socialist orientation in running schools and the educational philosophy of "People-Oriented, Demand-Oriented, Application as the Soul, and Pursuit of Excellence", the university aims to build a century-old Huayu and a distinctive prestigious school, providing high-quality educational services for students' growth and development, and cultivating applicable talents and technologies for local economic and social development.

学校占地1300余亩，在校生2.28万人，其中本科生1.79万人；教学科研仪器设备总值1.54亿元，建有276个实验实训室；图书馆馆藏纸质图书175.6万册。设有10个教学院（中心），开设39个本科专业，形成以工学为主体，工、管、艺、文、经等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。现有山东省一流本科专业建设点3个、民办本科高校优势特色专业5个，省一流本科课程和课程思政示范课程9门。近五年毕业生总体毕业去向落实率保持在90%以上。

The university covers an area of over 1,300 mu, with 22,800 students, including 17,900 undergraduates. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 154 million yuan, with 276 experimental training rooms. The library has a collection of 1.756 million paper books. It has 10 teaching colleges (centers), offering 39 undergraduate majors, forming a discipline system with engineering as the main body, coordinated development of engineering, management, art, literature, economics and other disciplines. Currently, it has 3 Shandong Provincial First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites, 5 Advantageous and Characteristic Majors in Shandong Private Undergraduate Universities, and 9 Provincial First-class Undergraduate Courses and Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Courses. The overall employment rate of graduates has remained above 90% in the past five years.

学校深化产教融合，与企业共建6个产业学院（其中2个为山东省现代产业学院），获批教育部产学合作协同育人项目38项；加强党建与思政工作，现有全国党建工作样板支部1个、山东高校党建工作样板支部1个，相关工作获中央电视台、《光明日报》等媒体报道。

The university deepens industry-education integration, jointly building 6 industrial colleges with enterprises (including 2 Shandong Provincial Modern Industrial Colleges), and has been approved for 38 industry-university cooperation collaborative education projects by the Ministry of Education. It strengthens party building and ideological and political work, with 1 National Model Branch for Party Building Work and 1 Shandong University Model Branch for Party Building Work. Relevant work has been reported by CCTV, Guangming Daily and other media.
