山东师范大学坐落在历史文化名城济南，是一所学科齐全、办学特色鲜明、综合实力较强的重点师范大学，入选山东省“高水平大学”建设高校。学校前身是1950年组建的山东师范学院，1981年更名为山东师范大学，2012年成为教育部与山东省人民政府共建高校。学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，以培养高素质人才、服务国家和地方经济社会发展为己任，形成了“弘德明志、博学笃行”的校训精神和“严谨治学、为人师表”的优良校风。

Shandong Normal University is located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city. It is a key normal university with complete disciplines, distinctive school-running characteristics and strong comprehensive strength, and has been selected into the construction of "high-level universities" in Shandong Province. The predecessor of the university was Shandong Normal College founded in 1950. It was renamed Shandong Normal University in 1981 and became a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Shandong Province in 2012. The university has always adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, taking cultivating high-quality talents and serving the national and local economic and social development as its own responsibility, and has formed the school motto spirit of "Promoting virtue and clarifying aspirations, erudition and practice" and the fine school spirit of "rigorous academic research and being a model for others".

学校学科门类涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、管理学、艺术学等11大学科门类，拥有2个国家重点学科、1个国家重点（培育）学科，17个博士学位授权一级学科、36个硕士学位授权一级学科、15个专业学位授权类别，形成了学科门类齐全、师范特色鲜明、文理并重、多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。学校现有千佛山和长清湖两个校区，总占地面积近4000亩，校舍建筑面积150余万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值5.8亿元，馆藏纸质图书440余万册，电子图书900余万册。

The university covers 11 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art. It has 2 national key disciplines, 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, 17 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 36 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, and 15 professional degree authorization categories, forming a discipline and professional system with complete disciplines, distinctive normal school characteristics, equal emphasis on arts and sciences, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The university currently has two campuses, Qianfoshan and Changqinghu, with a total area of nearly 4,000 mu, a school building area of more than 1.5 million square meters, a total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment of 580 million yuan, a collection of more than 4.4 million paper books, and more than 9 million electronic books.
