山东体育学院创建于1958年，是山东省唯一的体育高等学府，国内高水平省属普通高等体育院校。学校建有济南（校本部）和日照两个校区，总占地2060亩，建筑面积56万平方米，各类训练场馆16.41万平方米，青岛产教融合实训基地（运动休闲产业学院）于2023年交付使用。学校以体育学学科为主，跨教育学、文学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等6大学科门类，设有12个教学机构、20个本科专业，其中国家足球学院和国家篮球学院是国内唯一省部共建的国家级专项运动学院。

Shandong Sport University, founded in 1958, is the only higher education institution specializing in sports in Shandong Province and a high-level provincial public sports university in China. The university has two campuses in Jinan (main campus) and Rizhao, covering a total area of 2060 mu with a building area of 560,000 square meters, including 164,100 square meters of various training venues. Its Qingdao Industry-Education Integration Training Base (Sports and Leisure Industry College) was put into use in 2023. With sports science as its dominant discipline, the university integrates six disciplines including education, literature, science, engineering, management, and art, comprising 12 teaching units and 20 undergraduate programs. Notably, the National Football Academy and National Basketball Academy are the only state-level specialized sports academies co-built by the province and ministry in China.

学校是全国首批体育专业硕士学位研究生和体育学硕士一级学科授予权单位，拥有1个一级学科硕士点、5个二级学科硕士点及3个专业硕士学位点，与多所高校联合培养博士研究生。现有教职工695人，专任教师559人，其中国家级人才、全国优秀教师等各类高层次人才50余人。近三年承担国家级科研项目8项、省部级课题51项，获省部级科研奖励4项，《山东体育学院学报》为中文体育核心期刊。建校以来培养了4万余名优秀毕业生，包括奥运冠军张梦雪、李晓霞等知名运动员及大批体育管理、教学科研人才。

The university is among the first batch of institutions in China authorized to grant master's degrees in sports science and professional master's degrees in sports. It has 1 first-level discipline master's program, 5 second-level discipline master's programs, and 3 professional master's degree programs, and jointly cultivates doctoral students with multiple universities. The faculty consists of 695 staff members, including 559 full-time teachers, with over 50 high-level talents such as national-level experts and national outstanding teachers. In the past three years, it has undertaken 8 national-level research projects and 51 provincial-level projects, winning 4 provincial-level scientific research awards. The "Journal of Shandong Sport University" is a core Chinese sports academic journal. Since its establishment, the university has cultivated over 40,000 outstanding graduates, including renowned athletes like Olympic champions Zhang Mengxue and Li Xiaoxia, as well as numerous professionals in sports management, teaching, and research.
