山东职业学院由山东省人民政府举办、省教育厅直属管理，以培养高速铁路和城市轨道交通人才为特色，智能制造、信息技术、生物工程等多专业群协同发展，是国家骨干高职院校、国家“双高计划”建设单位。2020年以来连续五年获山东省高职院校办学质量考核、省属高职院校绩效考核双优秀，2024年以优秀等次通过国家第一期“双高计划”验收。

Shandong Vocational College is sponsored by the People's Government of Shandong Province and directly managed by the Provincial Department of Education. It is characterized by cultivating talents for high-speed railways and urban rail transit, with coordinated development of multiple professional groups such as intelligent manufacturing, information technology, and bioengineering. It is a national backbone higher vocational college and a construction unit of the national "Double High Plan". Since 2020, it has won double excellence in the办学 quality assessment of Shandong higher vocational colleges and the performance assessment of provincial higher vocational colleges for five consecutive years, and passed the acceptance of the first phase of the national "Double High Plan" with excellent grades in 2024.

学校于1951年建校，前身为济南铁路机械学校，1958-1963年曾升格为济南铁道学院，2000年济南铁路机械学校、济南铁路局成人中等专业学校合并设立济南铁道职业技术学院，2004年由铁道部济南铁路局划归省教育厅管理，2010年更名为山东职业学院。校园占地面积1615亩，建筑面积42.7万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值4.5亿元，图书158.4万册，建有校内实验实训室169个，校外实习实训基地148个。现有专任教师589人，全日制在校生1.1万余人，设有14个教学院部及5个教辅科研机构。

The school was founded in 1951, formerly known as Jinan Railway Machinery School. It was upgraded to Jinan Railway College from 1958 to 1963. In 2000, Jinan Railway Machinery School and Jinan Railway Bureau Adult Secondary Professional School merged to establish Jinan Railway Vocational and Technical College. In 2004, it was transferred from Jinan Railway Bureau of the Ministry of Railways to the Provincial Department of Education for management, and renamed Shandong Vocational College in 2010. The campus covers an area of 1615 mu, with a building area of 427,000 square meters, the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 450 million yuan, 1.584 million books, 169 on-campus experimental training rooms, and 148 off-campus practice training bases. There are 589 full-time teachers, more than 11,000 full-time students, 14 teaching colleges and departments, and 5 teaching and research institutions.
