沈阳工程学院溯源于1947年创建的哈尔滨青年干部学校和1952年创建的东北电业管理局技工学校。哈尔滨青年干部学校是中国共产党在东北创立的第一所以培养建设新民主主义新东北青年为宗旨的专门学校，首任校长蒋南翔是我国青年运动的著名领导者。东北电业管理局技工学校是新中国成立后东北地区第一所电力技工学校，1992年更名为沈阳电力高等专科学校，被誉为“专科中的小清华”。2003年，两校合并组建为沈阳工程学院，揭开了学校改革发展的崭新一页。

Shenyang Institute of Engineering traces its origins to the Harbin Youth Cadre School founded in 1947 and the Northeast Electric Power Administration Technical School established in 1952. The Harbin Youth Cadre School was the first specialized school founded by the Communist Party of China in Northeast China with the purpose of cultivating youth for building a new democratic Northeast China, and its first president, Jiang Nanxiang, was a renowned leader of China's youth movement. The Northeast Electric Power Administration Technical School was the first electric power technical school in Northeast China after the founding of the People's Republic of China. In 1992, it was renamed Shenyang Electric Power College, known as the "Little Tsinghua among junior colleges". In 2003, the two schools merged to form Shenyang Institute of Engineering, opening a new chapter in the school's reform and development.

学校位于辽宁省沈阳市沈北新区，拥有主校区和科技园区，占地面积82万平方米，建筑面积45万平方米。现有教职工986人，其中专任教师729人，高级职称占比49.9%，博士硕士占比95.6%。学校坚定走产教融合、校企合作发展之路，与16家企业共建定制班，与143家央、国企和民营企业签订全面战略合作框架协议，获批工信部专精特新产业学院和产教融合创新中心首批建设试点单位。累计孵化科技企业200余家，转化专利技术50余项，经济效益达数十亿元。

The school is located in Shenbei New District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, with a main campus and a science and technology park, covering an area of 820,000 square meters and a building area of 450,000 square meters. There are 986 faculty members, including 729 full-time teachers, with 49.9% having senior professional titles and 95.6% having doctoral or master's degrees. The school firmly adheres to the path of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, has established customized classes with 16 enterprises, signed comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreements with 143 central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and private enterprises, and was approved as the first batch of construction pilot units for the specialized and sophisticated industrial college and industry-education integration innovation center by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has incubated more than 200 technology enterprises, transformed more than 50 patent technologies, with economic benefits reaching billions of yuan.
