三江学院地处六朝古都南京，是经国家教育部批准的省属普通本科高校，是江苏省首家民办本科普通高校，也是全国最早的四所民办本科高校之一。学校校名可追溯至1902年的三江师范学堂（东南大学、南京大学等高校前身），1992年由东南大学、南京大学等高校的四位退休教授发起创办，历经多年发展，已形成以工、文、管、经、法、艺、理等学科协调发展的办学格局。

Sanjiang University is located in Nanjing, an ancient capital of six dynasties. It is a provincial ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of China, the first private undergraduate university in Jiangsu Province, and one of the earliest four private undergraduate universities in China. The university's name can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School (the predecessor of Southeast University, Nanjing University, etc.) founded in 1902. In 1992, it was initiated and founded by four retired professors from Southeast University, Nanjing University and other universities. After years of development, it has formed a school-running pattern with coordinated development of engineering, literature, management, economics, law, art, science and other disciplines.

学校现有铁心桥主校区等多个校区，占地面积1030.4亩，建筑面积47.47万平方米，设有12个二级学院、55个本科专业，拥有3个国家级一流本科专业建设点、14个省级一流本科专业建设点。学校坚持“以生为本、德育优先、规范管理、以质取胜”的办学理念，依托南京丰富的高校资源和区位优势，构建了一支以高水平专职教师为骨干、兼职教师为补充的师资队伍，致力于培养高素质应用型人才。

The university currently has multiple campuses including the main Tiexinqiao Campus, covering an area of 1030.4 mu with a building area of 474,700 square meters. It has 12 secondary colleges and 55 undergraduate majors, with 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 14 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "student-oriented, moral education first, standardized management, and quality-oriented", the university relies on Nanjing's rich university resources and geographical advantages to build a teaching staff with high-level full-time teachers as the backbone and part-time teachers as supplements, committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents.

近年来，学校先后荣获江苏省文明单位、江苏省高等学校和谐校园、江苏省平安校园等称号，连续多年被评为江苏省毕业生就业工作先进集体。学校积极推进国际交流合作，与多个国家和地区的高校建立了友好合作关系，为学生提供多元化的成长平台。
