东吴大学（Soochow University, SCU）于1900年由基督教监理会在苏州创办，是中国第一所西制大学；1951年在台湾复校，为台湾第一所私立大学，与苏州大学同宗同源并互为姊妹学校。学校秉持“养天地正气，法古今完人”（Unto a Full-Grown Man）的校训，现有外双溪及城中两校区，分别位于台北市文教核心区与政经枢纽，文、理、外语学院及法、商学院分设两校区，交通便捷且学术资源集中。

Soochow University (SCU) was founded in Suzhou by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South in 1900 as China's first Western-style university. It was re-established in Taiwan in 1951 as the island's first private university and shares the same roots with Suzhou University as sister institutions. Upholding the motto "Unto a Full-Grown Man" (Chinese: 养天地正气，法古今完人), the university has two campuses in Taipei: Waishuangxi Campus (housing Colleges of Arts, Foreign Languages, and Science) and Downtown Campus (hosting Colleges of Law and Business), both strategically located in cultural and economic hubs with convenient transportation and concentrated academic resources.

学校以精致化、特色化办学为目标，现有22个学系、21个硕士班及6个博士班，学生总数约1.3万人，在法律、商学等领域享有盛誉，2024年位列台湾私立大学财经法政学群第一名。校色红黑二色象征热诚与坚毅，校徽融合中英文校名及校训，体现中西合璧的教育传统。知名校友涵盖法政界、学术界等领域，如前司法院副院长城仲模、前东吴大学校长蒋孝慈等。
