南联邦大学（Southern Federal University, Южный Федеральный Университет）始建于1817年，前身为罗斯托夫皇家华沙大学，2006年由罗斯托夫国立大学、罗斯托夫国立建筑艺术学院、罗斯托夫国立师范大学和塔甘罗格国立无线电大学四所俄罗斯南部顶级学府合并组建，是俄罗斯南部地区的科教中心和全俄首屈一指的研究型大学。

Southern Federal University (Южный Федеральный Университет) was founded in 1817, formerly known as Rostov Imperial Warsaw University. In 2006, it was established by merging four top universities in southern Russia: Rostov State University, Rostov State Academy of Architecture and Art, Rostov State Pedagogical University, and Taganrog State Radio Engineering University. It is a leading scientific and educational center in southern Russia and a premier research university in the country.

学校主校区位于顿河河畔的顿河畔罗斯托夫市，分校区位于契诃夫故乡塔甘罗格市，拥有37个院系、近500个专业及70余个科研机构，教职工8700余人，在校生近6万人。其学科覆盖自然科学、工程技术、人文社科、建筑设计、师范教育等领域，在微型飞机、机器人技术等科研方向居俄罗斯领先地位，2021-2022年QS世界大学排名位列531-540区间。

The university's main campus is located in Rostov-on-Don on the banks of the Don River, with a branch campus in Taganrog, the hometown of Chekhov. It has 37 faculties, nearly 500 programs, and over 70 research institutions, with more than 8,700 faculty members and nearly 60,000 students. Its disciplines cover natural sciences, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences, architectural design, teacher education, etc. It leads Russia in research fields such as micro-aircraft and robotics, ranking 531-540 in the QS World University Rankings 2021-2022.
