Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences (SUMHS) is the first application-oriented undergraduate medical college named after "health" in China. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it adheres to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Rooted in Shanghai, radiating the Yangtze River Delta, and serving the whole country, SUMHS aligns with the strategies of building a strong education nation and Healthy China. With distinctive features in "integration of medicine and engineering, medicine and elderly care, medicine and medical insurance", the university focuses on the entire life cycle and health process, offering 20 undergraduate programs such as Clinical Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, and Medical Imaging Technology. Among these, Clinical Engineering Technology, Medical Product Management, and Intelligent Imaging Engineering are pioneering nationwide, while Health Service and Management, and Medical Imaging Technology are the first of their kind in Shanghai, filling multiple gaps in applied medical talent cultivation in Shanghai.

学校地处浦东张江科学城国际医学园区，现有全日制在校生1.1万余人，秉承73年办学历史，践行“实践+人文DNA双螺旋”人才培养理念，构建突出全科医学特色的早临床实践教学体系。毕业生去向落实率持续位居全市高校前列，专业对口率高、稳定性强，深受用人单位欢迎。学校拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点2个、省级一流本科专业建设点7个，以及上海市分子影像重点实验室、5G+智慧医疗创新实验室等省部级科研平台，累计获批国家自然科学基金68项，授权专利509项，获国家级教学成果二等奖2项。

Located in the International Medical Park of Zhangjiang Science City, Pudong, SUMHS has over 11,000 full-time students and inherits a 73-year educational heritage. It practices the "Practice + Humanities DNA Double Helix" talent cultivation concept and builds an early clinical practice teaching system featuring general medicine. The employment rate of graduates remains among the top universities in Shanghai, with high professional relevance and stability, making them highly favored by employers. The university has 2 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 7 provincial-level ones, and provincial-level scientific research platforms such as the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and 5G+ Smart Medical Innovation Laboratory. 学校现有教职工870人，其中正高级职称51人，副高级职称176人，拥有国家重点联系专家、国务院政府特殊津贴专家等高水平师资队伍。依托4所直属附属医院、2家附属医院及30家附属社区卫生服务中心，组建覆盖上海13个区的社区卫生服务中心健康联盟，与瑞金医院、中山医院等三甲医院开展合作订单班，形成“医教协同、产教融合”的育人格局。2023年学校高质量通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，护理学专业通过教育部专业认证，为健康中国建设培养了大批“有温度、能实践、善创新”的应用型医疗卫生人才。

SUMHS has 870 faculty members, including 51 with senior professional titles and 176 with associate senior titles, boasting a high-level teaching team with national key contact experts and recipients of special government allowances from the State Council. Relying on 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 2 affiliated hospitals, and 30 affiliated community health service centers, it has established a community health service center alliance covering 13 districts in Shanghai and carried out cooperative order classes with top-tier hospitals like Ruijin Hospital and Zhongshan Hospital, forming an educational pattern of "medical-educational collaboration and industry-education integration". In 2023, the university successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education, and its Nursing program obtained professional certification, cultivating a large number of application-oriented medical and health talents who are "compassionate, practical, and innovative" for the construction of Healthy China.
