西南政法大学是新中国最早建立的高等政法学府之一，前身是1950年创建的西南人民革命大学。学校位于重庆市，是教育部与重庆市人民政府共建高校，国家首批“卓越法律人才教育培养计划”基地，被誉为新中国法学教育的“西南联大”。

Southwest University of Political Science and Law is one of the earliest institutions of higher education in political science and law established in New China, formerly known as the Southwest People's Revolutionary University founded in 1950. Located in Chongqing, it is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and one of the first national bases for the "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Program". It is known as the " Southwest Associated University" of legal education in New China.

学校以法学为主，法学、经济学、管理学、文学、工学等多学科协调发展，拥有法学一级学科博士学位授权点、博士后科研流动站，法学学科连续多年入选“双一流”建设学科名单。

The university focuses on law, with coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as law, economics, management, literature, and engineering. It has a doctoral degree authorization point in the first-level discipline of law and a post-doctoral research station. The law discipline has been selected into the list of "Double First-Class" construction disciplines for many years.

建校以来，西南政法大学为国家培养了大量优秀法律人才和各类专门人才，在法学教育、学术研究和法治实践中发挥着重要作用，形成了“博学笃行、厚德重法”的校训精神。
