山西电子科技学院是由山西师范大学现代文理学院转设而成的一所省属公办理工类普通本科高校。2023年11月21日经教育部同意、2023年12月15日山西省人民政府批准设立，由省政府领导，省教育厅管理，实行省市共建。校园现有占地面积1208亩，建筑面积45万余平方米。学校已逐步构建以电子信息类学科为特色，理、工、文、管、艺、史多学科交叉融合、集群发展的学科专业体系。现有30个专业，其中理工类专业22个。

Shanxi University of Electronic Science and Technology is a provincial public general undergraduate university of science and engineering, transformed from the College of Modern Arts and Sciences of Shanxi Normal University. Approved by the Ministry of Education on November 21, 2023 and the People's Government of Shanxi Province on December 15, 2023, it is led by the provincial government, managed by the Provincial Department of Education, and co-constructed by the province and the city. The campus currently covers an area of 1208 mu, with a construction area of more than 450,000 square meters. The university has gradually built a discipline and professional system with electronic information disciplines as the特色, and interdisciplinary integration and cluster development of science, engineering, literature, management, art, and history. There are 30 majors, including 22 science and engineering majors.

学校聚焦应用型人才培养目标，依据产业需求定专业，依据技术方法改内容，形成全新人才培养模式。累计投入教学科研仪器设备值达1.2亿元，教学实验实训室155个，图书总量71.2396万册；建成建筑面积9912.55平方米工程创新实训中心1个，包括16个实习实训车间。与晋南钢铁集团等企业联合共建5个实验室，累计吸纳资金2000余万元。

The university focuses on the goal of cultivating applied talents, sets majors according to industrial needs, and reforms content according to technical methods, forming a new talent training model. The total investment in teaching and research instruments and equipment has reached 120 million yuan, with 155 teaching experiment and training rooms, and a total of 712,396 books. An engineering innovation training center with a construction area of 9912.55 square meters has been built, including 16 internship and training workshops. It has jointly built 5 laboratories with enterprises such as Jinnan Iron and Steel Group, with a total absorbed capital of more than 20 million yuan.
