山西工程技术学院是一所位于山西省阳泉市的公办全日制普通本科高校，始建于1984年，前身为山西矿业学院阳泉煤炭专科班，2014年经教育部批准正式更名。学校是山西省首批应用型本科高校建设院校、教育部数据中国百校工程产教融合创新项目培育院校，以工学为主，涵盖理、经、管、艺等多学科，是山西省唯一一所煤炭类本科院校。

Shanxi Institute of Technology is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate university located in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province. Founded in 1984, its predecessor was the Yangquan Coal College Class of Shanxi Mining Institute. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was officially renamed in 2014. As one of the first batch of applied undergraduate university construction institutions in Shanxi Province and a cultivation institution for the "Data China 100-University Project" industry-education integration innovation project of the Ministry of Education, the university focuses on engineering and covers multiple disciplines including science, economics, management, and arts, being the only coal-related undergraduate university in Shanxi Province.

学校校园占地78.42万平方米，全日制在校生13243人，教职工901人，其中专任教师670人，硕士及以上学位教师占比86.7%。设有16个教学业务部门，开设36个本科专业，拥有省级一流本科专业建设点7个、省级特色专业3个，构建了"产学研用创"五元联动的应用型人才培养体系，与华阳集团等企业共建实习基地178个，获省级教学成果奖6项，授权专利69项。

The university covers an area of 784,200 square meters, with 13,243 full-time students and 901 faculty members, including 670 full-time teachers, among whom 86.7% have master's degrees or above. It has 16 teaching departments and offers 36 undergraduate programs, including 7 provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 3 provincial characteristic majors. The university has built a "production-education-research-application-innovation" five-element linkage applied talent training system, co-established 178 internship bases with enterprises such as Huayang Group, won 6 provincial teaching achievement awards, and obtained 69 authorized patents.

秉承"崇德尚能、行知合一"校训，学校形成了"涅石传承、匠心筑梦"的办学特色，培养了全国人大代表、全国五一劳动奖章获得者等大批应用型人才，先后获评山西省五一劳动奖状、中国双创典型示范高校等荣誉，为区域经济社会发展和能源行业转型升级提供了有力支撑。

Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue and Ability, Knowledge and Practice United", the university has formed the school-running characteristic of "Inheriting from Stone, Building Dreams with Ingenuity". It has cultivated a large number of applied talents including National People's Congress deputies and National May 1st Labor Medal winners. The university has successively been awarded honors such as the Shanxi Provincial May 1st Labor Certificate and China's Typical Model University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, providing strong support for regional economic and social development and the transformation and upgrading of the energy industry.
