山西机电职业技术学院创建于1958年，是山西省人民政府主办、山西省教育厅直属的全日制普通高等职业院校。学院是中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划（双高计划）建设单位、全国现代学徒制试点高职院校、全国首批1+X证书制度试点院校，也是山西省首批示范性高职院校、全省唯一具有招收国际留学生资质的高职院校。

Shanxi Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, founded in 1958, is a full-time public higher vocational college sponsored by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and directly under the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. It is a construction unit of the "Double High-Level Plan" for China's characteristic high-level vocational schools and specialties, a national pilot vocational college for modern apprenticeship, and one of the first national pilot institutions for the 1+X certificate system. It is also one of the first demonstration vocational colleges in Shanxi Province and the only vocational college in the province with the qualification to enroll international students.

学院坐落于山西省长治市，拥有主校区、东湖校区等多个校区，占地面积35.3万平方米，校舍建筑面积27.9万平方米。学院设有8大专业实训中心142个实训室，教学仪器设备总值16000多万元，形成了以机电工程、汽车工程、信息工程等为特色的专业体系，重点建设数控技术、机械制造及自动化、智能焊接技术等省级以上重点专业。

Located in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, the college has multiple campuses including the main campus and Donghu Campus, covering an area of 353,000 square meters with a building area of 279,000 square meters. It has 8 professional training centers with 142 training rooms, and the total value of teaching equipment exceeds 160 million yuan. The college has formed a professional system featuring mechanical and electrical engineering, automotive engineering, and information engineering, with key majors at or above the provincial level such as numerical control technology, mechanical manufacturing and automation, and intelligent welding technology.

学院师资力量雄厚，副教授及以上高级专业技术人员占28.74%，"双师型"教师占90.29%，拥有国家级教学团队2个、省级优秀教学团队4个。近年来，学院积极推进产教融合、校企合作，与多家企业共建实训基地，培养了大批适应智能制造产业需求的高素质技术技能人才，就业率连续多年保持在95%以上。

The college boasts a strong faculty, with 28.74% of teachers holding senior professional titles (associate professor or above) and 90.29% being "double-qualified" teachers. It has 2 national-level teaching teams and 4 provincial-level excellent teaching teams. In recent years, the college has actively promoted industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation,共建 training bases with multiple enterprises, and has cultivated a large number of high-quality technical talents meeting the needs of the intelligent manufacturing industry, with an employment rate remaining above 95% for many years.
