山西能源学院是一所经教育部批准、由山西省人民政府创办的应用型普通本科院校。学院以培养高素质、高技能人才和服务区域经济建设与社会发展为使命，确立“技高品端”人才培养目标，探索“学教做合一”人才培养模式，创新校企合作、工学结合办学机制，实现师资、课程、实训等院内外人才培养资源的共享，在校企合作、人才培养等方面进行了探索，取得了一定的成效。学院是山西综改试验区重点建设项目、山西省应用型本科试点院校、全国地方高校产教融合建设试点院校，学院的动力工程及工程热物理是山西省“1331工程”优势特色学科，高性能输送带实验室是山西省重点实验室。

Shanxi Institute of Energy is an application-oriented ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and founded by the People's Government of Shanxi Province. With the mission of cultivating high-quality and high-skilled talents and serving regional economic construction and social development, the college has established the talent training goal of "high technical skills and noble character", explored the talent training model of "integration of learning, teaching and doing", innovated the school-enterprise cooperation and work-study integration school-running mechanism, realized the sharing of talent training resources inside and outside the college such as teachers, courses and training, and has made certain achievements in school-enterprise cooperation and talent training. The college is a key construction project of Shanxi Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone, a pilot application-oriented undergraduate college in Shanxi Province, and a pilot college for industry-education integration construction of national local colleges and universities. Its Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics is an advantageous characteristic discipline of Shanxi "1331 Project", and the High-performance Conveyor Belt Laboratory is a key laboratory in Shanxi Province.

学院秉承“立德强能，笃学善行”的校训，以新时代中国特色社会主义建设的需求为指引，以传统能源和新能源的需求为目标，逐步形成能源动力类、新能源与未来能源类、能源装备智能制造类、智慧能源类、能源资源环境类、能源经济管理类六大专业群。围绕六大专业群，设立了13个教学系部，开设27个本科专业，2A招生专业达到9个。各专业互为呼应、共同协作，努力对接能源及相关企业从生产到管理所需的人才链，形成了具有能源学院特色的专业集群。获批山西省“1331工程”优势特色学科1个、省级一流本科专业建设点6个。学院现有两个校区，分别位于学风浓郁的山西省高校园区和高新技术密集的太原市小店区。校园总占地面积为760余亩，校舍建筑面积近20万平方米，教学科研仪器设备值1亿多元，纸质图书72.178万册，电子图书20万册，校内实验实训室100多个，校外实习基地63个。

Adhering to the school motto of "Establish Virtue and Strengthen Ability, Study Diligently and Act Benevolently", guided by the needs of building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and targeting the needs of traditional energy and new energy, the college has gradually formed six major professional groups: Energy and Power, New and Future Energy, Intelligent Manufacturing of Energy Equipment, Smart Energy, Energy Resources and Environment, and Energy Economy and Management. Centering on the six professional groups, 13 teaching departments have been set up, offering 27 undergraduate majors, with 9 majors enrolled in the 2A category. All majors echo and cooperate with each other, striving to connect the talent chain needed by energy and related enterprises from production to management, forming a professional cluster with the characteristics of the Energy College. It has been approved 1 advantageous characteristic discipline of Shanxi "1331 Project" and 6 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The college has two campuses, located in the academic atmosphere-rich Shanxi Higher Education Park and the high-tech intensive Xiaodian District of Taiyuan City respectively. The total campus area is more than 760 mu, with a building area of nearly 200,000 square meters, teaching and research instruments and equipment worth more than 100 million yuan, 721,780 paper books, 200,000 e-books, more than 100 on-campus laboratories and training rooms, and 63 off-campus practice bases.

学院坚持引育并举，突出协同融合，师资队伍由杰青、优青，国家百千万、国家教学名师等一批老中青相结合的教师组成，并努力建设一支专兼结合、数量充足、结构合理的高素质“双师双能型”教师队伍。现有教职工512人，其中自有专任教师360人，硕士及以上学位教师322人，博士76人、高级职称教师99人，杰青1名，优青2名，国家百千万人才2名，三晋英才1名，国家级教学名师1名，山西省教学名师入选者3名。现有在校生8700余人。学院面向山西、河南、山东、河北、陕西、湖北、四川、内蒙、江西和新疆等10个省市或地区招生（截止2023年10月）。

The college adheres to both introduction and cultivation, highlights synergy and integration. The teaching staff consists of a group of teachers combining the old, middle-aged and young, including Jieqing, Youqing, National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents, National Teaching Masters, etc. It strives to build a high-quality "double-qualified and double-capable" teaching team with a combination of full-time and part-time teachers, sufficient quantity and reasonable structure. There are 512 faculty members, including 360 full-time teachers, 322 teachers with master's degree or above, 76 doctors, 99 senior title teachers, 1 Jieqing, 2 Youqing, 2 National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents, 1 Sanjin Talent, 1 National Teaching Master, and 3 Shanxi Provincial Teaching Masters. There are more than 8,700 students. The college enrolls students from 10 provinces, cities or regions including Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Shaanxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi and Xinjiang (as of October 2023).

目前，学院在山西省委省政府的坚强领导下，认真贯彻落实习近平总书记视察山西重要讲话精神，全面落实省委十一届十次全会决策部署，围绕山西转型发展大局，聚焦“六新”要求和14大新兴产业集群，全力推进学科专业建设，努力提高人才培养社会认可度，牢固夯实人才队伍基础，着力提升科学研究和服务经济社会的水平。学院将坚定不移走特色发展之路，牢牢把握内涵式发展着力点，以更加统一的思想、更加有力的举措、更加坚定的意志，全面推进特色鲜明的应用型普通高等学校的建设，创建能源领域国际化、创新型大学。
